Got a nice haul at the con yesterday.
Solar promo card ([roughly 7x7] Pre-dates Solar #1) 5 Bucks
50 Valiant books to fill holes - 5 for a buck
25 Pre-hero Nintendo Books - all NM or close to it!
(2) Harby 0 Blue w/Shooter Auto #'ed out of 2000
Harby TPB w/Lapham Auto #'ed out of 2000
Also got a few Auto & Variant books for a buck, and Solar sketch from up and coming artist (Justin Wasson) for free! I'll post a picture when I can. He inked it for me too!
And, two inked pages by Dan Davis (Tec and JLA Adventures) for $5 each!

Not sure, i didn't get any of 'em. I doubt they're quarter bin prices though. But he's always been very reasonable with prices and if you're getting a bunch he starts throwing in discounts and what not.superman-prime wrote:i accually havent been to howards (gregs) yet this is from someone at work and i got a lot of them coming in the mail as well as cheaking out what howard has what is he selling them for ???

I stopped shopping at Howard's last year. He would always gave me first pick of any Valiants he got in. Which was great. And he also discounted new books.
Anyway, I stopped shopping there when he insisted that I buy a book I did not order. It was the last Solar hardcover. Now I know the only reason he ordered it was for me, since that is what he said. Since I had bought the others he assumed I wanted it as well. Besides, he had already convinced me to buy 2 Magnus 1 hardcovers when they came out.
I needed to cut back on my comic budget anyways.

I get spam e-mail constantly from Atomic Comics because I once won one of their eBay auctions. They also run their own auctions off eBay, but the prices are crazy high. I don't know how they get anyone to buy their stuff...superman-prime wrote:ya i have seen that before with peaple having him order stuff dont agree w it much but, i dont order anything anyways but its a bad deal (the only thing ive ever seen that i dont like and i hate atomic so theres no other choice

You are right. Although I have found some decent deals at All About Books on central. They watch eBay prices though and everything will be over cover price.superman-prime wrote:one of the few places in town dont have much of a choice
In fact there really are not a lot of options for bargin bins in AZ.

Bragging rights-your best deal of late
My best deal of late would be this past Saturday, when I purchased 1-10 of Solar, in essentially Mint condition-it looks mint to me-for 29 dollars. And yes, that does include a first edition of #10. I now have two copies of 4, 5 & both editions of 10. Yay. I also picked up the first 20 issues plus #0 of Shadowman for 20, that same day. I lucked into finding a place about 40 mts away that had a half-off sale to celebrate 15 years of business. Oh, and I got issues 40-50 o&x of XO for 10 dollars. I think it was a good haul.
