We should exercise more caution with all this rampant quoting.leonmallett wrote:it is like a really strange sense of deja-vu...again...cobra_commander wrote:I can't believe this thread is still going.leonmallett wrote:Chiclo wrote:You can't stir the pot without getting a little on you.leonmallett wrote:Exactly.cobra_commander wrote:

How I got started collecting Valiant comics
I live in Lacey, Washington and a friend of mine named Cat Kenney worked at the local comic store. She used to tip me off on what was good, particularly the under-the-radar stuff. She told me about Valiant comics and suggested that I give them a look. I was hooked from the get-go. There were only two titles at that time, Magnus and Solar. I remembered Magnus from the Gold Key issues when I was a kid. My favorite though was Rai so when he got his own title it was cool. Cat also suggested I buy a couple extra copies because she thought they would get hot and boy was she right about that. When Cat's store closed, I move my file to another LCS and the owner didn't know much about Valiant so he let me do all kinds of promos - original art posters, self-made sweatshirts of comic covers, etc. - and he gave me the Valiant promo comics that he got from time to time. Those were fun days. One of my favorite promos was putting the art to Ninjak 1 on a sweatshirt and then discovering that if you looked at the shirt wearing Valiant Vision goggles, it looked like Ninjak was exploding out of your chest!

You're story is extremely cool except for one aspect...worldsbestcomics wrote:I live in Lacey, Washington and a friend of mine named Cat Kenney worked at the local comic store.
