BodaZoffa wrote:From looking at the ages of the members, I'd say most fall into the 30-34 range, which would put you in college about the same time as me when you were collecting.

So, I guess I was not alone when I was trying to buy Rai#4 for $50.00 on a shoestring college budget. Those were the days....

I went to the University of ARMY so no college for me. Try picking up copies of Valiants in a little town called Babenhausen in Germany. Sometimes they would only get 5 or 10 copies of a book for the entire post and I am talking about Superman, Batman, Spider-man etc.

My Platoon Sergeant's wife ran the book store and she would pull copies for me when they came in :D

sorry that I missed it...Congrats...your highness..greg is there anyway that you could add a calendar feature to the webpage? maybe the VcVSS will fund it..I was thinking that we could use it to keep track of members birthdays, coming comic shows, maybe when the VcVSS books are coming out...that sort of thing...I dont know much about this board software so I have no idea how you add stuff to it or anything like that...just something that I thought that I would toss out there...

If I was 14-16 when Valiant first hit it big, wouldn't that place you reading "Sam, I am" and "See Spot Run" books around the same time period? Diaper duty falls to Depluto. :P

actually, since i was 5-9, i was probably reading comics. i always read at an accelerated pace, and was reading easily at senior high levels in second grade. well, lets say I COULD read at those levels. go dog go was always more appealing though. :D

i've been doing a lot of illustration projects lately, the most recent was just published a few weeks ago. i did all the illustrations in the jenna jameson autobiography "how to make love like a porn star" put out by regan books (tommy franks auto and the howard stern books). the drawings are "pg-13" at most, and even the actual photographs are only topless, but the words in there sure are scandalous. the book is huge, at almost 600 pages! and it debuted #9 on the new york times bestsellers list.

i know the ghost writer, neil strauss, who is a rolling stones writer (check out last issue's interview with tom cruise), and had worked with him in the past, publishing an editorial cartoon for the nytimes. he got me on the project through a pitch i had about illustrating some of the chapters in comic book sequential format.

if you wanna sneak peak, i have some of the artwork posted on my site:

Solar2004 is showing TONS more promise than Bloodshot2004. the script is written, all 48 pages, and there are many concept skecthes and a few pages have actually been done. we still need a couple of artists for the other sections. ManoftheAtom can tell you more. ill talk to him, if you are interested of course.

ps.

Mr. Chang, I hope you can end up drawing a section. each section is 6 pages...
Well, he could do the four page epilogue :)

Or even one panel that has the you-know-whom :)

well, i'm not sure about 6 pages. doesn't sound like a whole lot, but at this rate with me being so far behind on my work load, it would need to be called solar 2005 or solar 2006!

but i would be up for donating a cover. what are your plans for the final product?

It wouldn't need to be six pages, the shortest scene (the epilogue) is only three pages long.

Our plans include printing 100 copies that we'll give away for free (the cover will have the words Not For Sale and Free writen all over it, as well as a warning that the sale of this is ilegal, stuff like that), and we'll host the 48 pages and more on a website for everyone to read.

Anyone that wants a printed copy only needs to ask for one (first come, first served) and pay for the shipping.

The idea is to send a free copy to everyone involved in Alpha & Omega, and obviously those involved in Solar 2004 get a free copy too.

The printed copies will be black and white and the online version will be in color (at least that's the plan).

A cover sounds great.

We plan to start a formal list once the project is ready and the site is up and running :)

Once that happens all one needs to do is sign up for a copy.
