Wasnt the 'greatest' book in the world, but damn.... free is free and worthy of 'some kind' of thanks. Even a 'hey thanks for the $hitty book' kind of comment.

Y'know, I never did hear back from him... "HippityHoppitty" I believe it was. The items were delivered, yet I still have the unread PM I sent him afterwards in my Outbox.Knightt wrote:Did that guy whom 'we' sent that Rai TPB ever get back with you with a thank you or post a thank you ?slym2none wrote:blah blah blah

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

But I just sent out 10 copies of Turok #1 to a victim who knows nothing about comic books for a Secret Satan on another website.
She's really mad at me. Not because she got the package yet (with 10 Turoks and 5 AOL free trial CDs), but because I won't tell her who I got for the Secret Satan or what I sent to that poor soul.
AND - I got the Mekanix I bought from slym on eBay yesterday. He included some odd Spiderman comics I had not seen before. I am 2 issues in to Mekanix and it's a great read. Packed well. Good stuff.

I think thats only the half of a minded person would do. I appreciate little things myself. And I'd feel bad if I didn't announce my thanks and such... I thanked people on this board for the trades I've done, NOT thanking them publicly on the boards would have NEVER crossed me mind.Knightt wrote:Hmmm makes you think twice about shelling out free stuff huh ?

(For those of you watching, Knightt, knowing about our recent Xbox acquisition, sent me a big stack of games. Nothing asked for in return. No offer to sell them to me cheap. Just cuz he's such a groovy guy.)Knightt wrote:Hopefully by now you have opened it and enjoy the stuff.Heath wrote:Kudos to my bro Knightt for the rather AWESOME package I got in the mail today!![]()

And you are very welcome.
Knightt, I opened the box the day I got it! I literally hid behind my bed so I could flip through the manual for each game while watching the door for my son to come barging in. BUT, I did repackage them and I stuck the box in the back of the closet. I am dying to dig into it now. But there's still an awful lot of "new" on the Xbox and the other games. And I want my son to know where these games came from and to appreciate them in a slightly different way than the others. So I'm going to hold off bringing them out. Maybe for another week or two. At least until he can leave one game in the machine for more than 5 minutes!
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
MAN !!! I am glad that you dig 'em Heath. That is a problem that I had when I first got my Xbox was that I bought a few too many games. Then I cooled my jets and really sat down to play them with the goal of finishing them. Most of what I sent to you, I have finished others I knew that you would enjoy playing them with your son.
A while back when I had my shoulder surgery, a board member sent me a cople of Xbox games to give me something to do while on the mend AND help with the physical therapy (movings fingers, hand eye coordination). In a way, I am 'passing it forward' (but I did save back the original games that were sent to me, I dunno... for sentimentanl reasons).
Good idea on waiting to haul them out, too much at one time for kids (and us BIG kids) makes us not appreciate what we have IMO. So, now you will not have to buy any for a while but mainly, enjoy them with your little man.
Thanks for the exta kudos, Heath... I really apprecite that.

I have yet to do a transaction with ckb but one day I will... I just need to get off my CHEAP *SQUEE* and actually want to spend some money... LOL
I have only heard good things about ckb (well except for the one time in Canada... ya see, there was this girl from Ireland and an albino monkey. The monkey got drunk and... well, I'll let ckb explain that one some day
