I would be down for a final issue V.C.V.S.S. as well. Bloodshot 51 shouldn't be too hard as I think pretty much everybody here has at least one copy. I got a few myself and got one copy shipping out to you Dino. :P If not that, then there's always Harby 41 which isn't too hard to gather. I think out of all the final issues, XO 68 seems to be the hardest to find. For some weird reason, I never came across a copy of that issue.

Btw, would anyone be interested in doing a XO Manowar #1 or Solar 10 project?

Thats gonna be my first Bloodshot 51 :D I also won one the other day on ebay so I'm gonna have two. I've got like 5 harby 41's but the cover is a bit clustered for a VcVSS.

do you mean xo 1 and solar 10 vcvss projects?

I will help in any way possible, but I don't think I want to be in command of another. Its pretty stressful! :!:

Yup, I've been hoarding copies of XO 1 and Solar 10 first printing lately. I figure I could use them to do some vcvss signing project or something.

That's good with me. I prolly won't mind starting one if you can help me set up some valiant folks for signatures. At the moment, I still haven't gotten enough copies of either books to do the project. Let's see how the Solar 1 goes first before I put anything down in stone.

Maybe we should hold off on even planning another VcVSS book until everyone has the first 2 in their hands...I know that the glamour would wear off really quick if these things keep getting made...the first one was really cool..the second one is going to be really cool....I also think that we are going to have to go a different direction with the third one. I really like the idea of get a cgc one...that would be really cool...it would increase the price of the book for the grading but it would reduce the shipping costs...So I think that a graded VcVSS book should be next. Maybe in a few months. I really would hate to see this us blow our wad this thing...

but to get signature series yellow labels, they must be signed in the presence of cgc personnel. You'd have to take the books to a show where the artists are attending and go get a cgc rep to witness the artists' signatures.

othewise, you get a green Qualified label.

That and the $20 times however many books cash you'll need up front.

Since it look's like the VcVSS are put together pretty much on this site, what are the cost's involved and how does it benifit the members?

Even though the EW 1 gold thing looks like it wont' happen, I am still volunteering to fund and head a CGC SS effort. I am going to be setting up at 3+ major multi day shows over the next year.

Actually a CGC signature series for the next V.C.V.S.S. is not a bad idea. I mean if anyone can pull it off, please do it. Only thing I am worry will be the final cost. Looks like it'll be an expensive book. CKB, if you're gonna do it, make sure you pick a really nice pre-unity book. :thumb:

ckb, I pretty much agreed with Escaflown4. I'm thinking it’s a hell of an expensive book to buy now and eBayers are notorious for selling NM when it would be VF- (Escaflown4 knows what I mean Image ). So spending $25 a pop on a copy plus $20 for grading, not to mention the time and place you would have to be to actually meet the people to sign it would be a logistic nightmare.

Now, having said that, I'm first in line to buy your product. (I'm a hypocrite, I know! )

Dino and I were discussing this on another thread, and what you are talking about is the largest hurdle to overcome. I think I said something like if we wanted 50 of these, we need to buy 75.

I think it would also have to be acceptable here for board members to send me their best copies for possible inclusion in the final set. Of course, they would get some reduced price for the finished product.
I should be able to track them through the whole ordeal, and get people their actual books back.

I would love to see us pick a really stunning cover, that wasn't a super-key. Like Magnus 14, for instance. Or even Rai 5. Should be no problem getting 50 Solar 11s. I personally already have 30-40 Harbinger 7's, but while great and important, doesn't do it as well as the other covers.

The last issue idea was decent as well. Finding 50 BS 51s or Turok 47s.... I cringe.

I love the idea of a CGC VcVSS book because it seems each VcVSS has something unique going for it other than the series of signed books (mine were from layton, archs were grail signatures). The EW gold flat seller seems to have sold his books or gone elsewhere :? Your idea to do a cheap preunity book that is easy to find in high grade is perfect and I wish Harby 7 had a better cover coz I would love that book signed.

Here are what I think are the best bets

A&A 0 is a good one but some of the sigs have been done

Harby pink is expensive but everyone has one and wants more. Its easy to get in 9.6ish. Great cover for sigs.

Magnus 12 would look great signed, not so hard to get in 9.4+

Rai 5 screams to be signed

I won this lot on Ebay and it might make for a good VcVVSS.

Its a great book that everyone knows Valiant for and I am sure we can come up with extra copies very easy.

The cover is not busy but it is full. I have seen gold ink signed versions that look spectacular. This is a book I'd like to see signed by everybody who ever worked at valiant regardless of whether they worked on the book....but thats just me :D

I think that the cgc VcVSS book is doable if you can find the right people at the right show. You might not be able to get 2-3 signatures on each book, but you could get one good one. Also any thoughts on get 1 signture on the book then having it graded and then getting others to sign the slab if more signatures are wanted. Also I think that if you do same day service with the grading we will be getting around shipping the books all around the country which adds up after a couple of trips..I someone would have to look at the schedule of upcoming shows that cgc was going to be grading at and see who is going to be at those shows. Then find a book that goes with the person that can sign it...Could be a pain in the butt; however, I think that the finally product will be worth it and probably not cost much more than dino's book..

Just a question here, if you get CGC to slab it with a signature series. Would it still count if you get other people to sign on the slab afterwards or would the book be void?

what do you mean "void"...like the grade isnt good anymore? I dont think that would be the case. I think that you could still say that it was graded to be a 9.6 if it was graded a 9.6 even if you painted the entire case black except for the label. As long as nothing is done to the book inside the case I think that the grade stands...oh and that the case is not tampered with...meaning you dont try and open it or open it...I think getting signatures on the case is prefectly fine. Some people actually perfer it since it leaves the book in an un signed state if the book might get sold later on to someone that doesnt like signatures on the books. That person could just break open the slab or ahve it reslabed...I wonder though if people on here would except a graded book with signatures on the case as a VcVSS book. I mean the person doing it defines what it is, right?
