Selling Valiant Comics on Ioffer, NOT EBAY!

Post by Philflound »

I hope the link works. I'm selling a few hundred Valiant comic books. I'm slowly getting them in my Ioffer store. If the link doesn't work, just go to www.ioffer.com and search under GPDCOMICS. Ebay is now banned. I closed my store on Monday thanks to the fee hikes. Most of the comics will be negotiable, so just make offers and hopefully we can come to an agreement. All of these were my old store stock.

Besides Valiant, I'm offering other comic books, but also include collectibles, toys, vintage video games, action figures, and many other items. So if you have some time, feel free to browse. I've sold most of my last and late issue Valiants, but there are a few left. Those are the ones that are still up there. I saw someone had Ultraverse and Tekno Comics also on want lists. I'll be adding those probably in a month or two. Without a bulklister, it takes a little time.

Also, anything that's on Ioffer will also be offered on Wagglepop. Once they have their bulklister up and running, all items will be sold there too. Some items may also be on my website. One thing of note: if you don't want to sign up with any of these newer sites, feel free to contact me directly. I gladly accept paypal for all my items unless noted in the description. (only exceptions are some pricier items I don't personally own and are on consignment). All comics though are mine. I plan on having over a thousand different items in my new locations by the end of the year.

Feel free to contact me at pdispenza@verizon.net. Thanks.

Phil

Ok, I've added up through Harbinger. This list is going to grow vast and fast this week. I'll be done with my Valiants pretty much by the end of the week. I plan on adding lots more older comics, Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age books also. This is a project I could never do on Ebay, not because of the time, but because of the cost.

Before the Ebay store price hike, it was costing me about $30/month to list about 400 items. My sales were average, bringing me a couple hundred dollars a month, maybe $75-100 in profit. This was on the store items.

After the fee hike, my listing cost was going to be around $50 for the same exact items and listings. So Ebay wanted me to give them $20 extra for doing absolutely nothing for me. On top of that, the sale price final value fee also increased. So in order for me to pretty much break even, I think I'd have to make about $175 in sales or at least $150.

It definitely wasn't worth it, because I didn't always make that kind of money each month, and some of that was from auctions, which I could do without the store. So now with Ioffer, I pay NOTHING and can list as many items that I want. The sale fee is still there, but at least I have vested nothing but time into it. Also, I imported all my Ebay items into Ioffer, so the time for my initial listing was a couple of hours. They also let you import your feedback, so my rating is very high too.

So what it boils down to is I'd rather not make any sales on Ioffer, or only a few sales and make a little money, rather than do many sales on Ebay, do tons of work, and make little to no money. The only difference here is that my wife complains I have too much stuff, so I sort of need to move merchandise.

The good thing about IOffer is that I'm listing items there that I would never have listed on Ebay, i.e. all these Valiant Comics. I see many people are into Defiant, Broadway, Ultraverse, and other smaller companies that are no longer. I have many of these books too, and they will all eventually make it on this site.

So check me out in my new home. Feel free to send wantlists. Most prices are negotiable, thus the OFFER in IOffer. :)

thanks for the link... I don't see anything I need yet, but I'll check back. (any current Usagi Yojimbo or TMNT books going up soon?)

The iOffer site is kind of clunky still, but I kind of dig it. I might try it out myself. :)

A year or two back, one could find killer deals in iOffer, but not so much anymore.

Good luck, Phil!

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

When Amazon first started with auctions back in 98-99, I picked up an uncut Unity sheet for $10, including shipping!!

It's one of my prized Valiant rarities. I even brought it with me to the "Valiant Con" in 2000 in Westchester, NY and had Jim Shooter sign it for me. And now it hangs proudly* on my wall safely in a custom frame.

Thanks for the comments guys!!
