Huh? You mean Magnus #25 VVSS with a printing error or Magnus #0 with a printing error or Magnus #0 VcVSS with a printing error?J-D Manowar wrote:Over the next week I am eBaying my VALIANT collection. Printing error in what way? The cards are jacked up or something?mrwoogieman wrote:Greg's copy of the Magnus 0 VcVSS and I believe one other copy are "error" copies...
I assume JD is talking about one of those and would guess he got one of the two ebay copies that were sold at the beginning of the project.
Interesting.

Looking at his auction, it's not the VcVSS. It's not even signed. Just has a stamp on it. Hopefully the VALIANT stamp and not some other stamp.

We have heard about this before - seemingly random books with a VVSS stamp. What he has is a Magnus 0 with card that has the VVSS stamp, no signitures and no COA.mrwoogieman wrote:Ah, my mistake. I thought he was talking about what Dino was referring to in this thread

What's a little weird about it is that this book was out well before there was a twinkle in Valiant's eye about doing VVSS. The first stamped/embossed VVSS was Rai 9, May 1993. Magnus 8 had a cover date of Jan 1992 and the coupon collection process was over pretty early in 1992. My best speculation is that there were still copies of the Mag 0 books around at the Valiant office for promotional purposes and someone was playing around with the stamp.
Either that or the stamp escaped during the repeated turbulance at the office and it's floating around. Hopefully it was destroyed.

i would agree with ckb. it might've even been lying around (the magnus 0) when someone was trying to explain the project, or maybe even doing a "test run" of some sort. it's interesting to say the least.
i would guess if someone had access to the stamp and simply began stamping random books-that we would see these more regularly and that they could be traced to a single source...

I know I don't post a lot. I just like to read 'em. I will be putting up pictures tomorrow. I will also add grades. If you have a question about a specific book please let me know. I wish I had more info about the V.V.S.S. Magnus stamp. But no, I don't have the stamp here. How cool would that be. I would use it on all my checks.
