There's no technical way to stop others from the "copy and paste" technique...Valiant_1 wrote:I didn't think you could copy and paste info from this website onto an EBAY auction....can you? That's kinda low-rent.
I only ask that no one use the scans as if they are the book being sold.
If you use a scan, clearly state in the auction that it is not the book...
just a representative of the book in question.
(Also, it would be best to copy the image to another server...
using the image on my site uses my bandwidth for something I didn't authorize.)
As far as the text portion, it's general information, so no real harm done...
but it would be nice to indicate "valiantcomics.com" as the source,
not to pretend that the seller researched all the details themselves.
(This reply isn't directed at Valiant_1... it's a general answer to his question.)

Not so much the auction price as the shipping cost. How much you want to bet that this dood sends the package via media mail in a envelope. Bags and boards cost an extra $1.
I mean, where is the justification for this? It's one comic of modest value!

Hmm maybe I should message Gambit personally and see if he wants a copy of that issue for $75.

A wrinkled up copy....and 'I will do my best with pricing'.
Uh huh.
If you want to do your best with pricing, start it off at a cent and see where it goes.
$15.99 start bid? $60 BIN??
If you don't know what you're doing, or can't be bothered to research....DON'T LIST. DUH.

What do you think of this auction? seems steep, $36 for 28 comics? $45 with shipping. That's like $162 per comic with shipping... I'd only need 1-10 and maybe a few others, so say $4.5 ea for Solar 1-10 with shipping.
1-10 without shipping = #3.63 ea
all 28 without shipping = $1.30 ea
i think...

I don't think thats awful. Those are some good books that go for more individually. Also, shipping isn't media mail.. so thats cool
This guy did make me laugh.. also with his feedback rating of 1

Xero, that's not THAT bad, I was actually going to bid on it till it went too high for me. Look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT
One of our own members sold it. It looks like he got lucky and got himself a bidding war which got him that price.

What a ditz. $2 additional for EACH AUCTION. How disgusting.
Tell me...how long does it take to put an additional book in a package you ALREADY have to pack, label, and ship?

I just normally skip these people...Shipping is probably the #2 thing I look at when I am deciding to buy something on ebay. I guess the first would be "Do I want the item" Second would be shipping...third would be condition...Shipping really is a eal breaker for me. I rarely buy single books, and I always look through the seller's other auction to see if I can combine a few things...ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 95519&rd=1

The guy wrote me back with the standard "there's listing fees, bag and board, blah blah blah..." I responded with "yes, listing fee is 35 cents, bag and board is 15 cents. Combine relevant auctions, and you won't pay multiple listing fees."DawgPhan wrote:I just normally skip these people...Shipping is probably the #2 thing I look at when I am deciding to buy something on ebay. These people apparently think that their refusal to do research and see what these items normally sell for is an excuse to list them seperately and then complain about the listing fee.
Duh.
