Anybody else reading this Vertigo book? it got a mention in Entertainment Weekly and I gotta agree with them, it's a really well written book. you'd think being the last guy on earth would mean tons of *SQUEE*, but.... :D

Why, because there'd be little competition for the good food, so he'd gain a lot of weight....?

I'm amazed at how big that comic is getting. I saw an issue on the stands, and thought I'd get the first one so I could start from the begining. That first issue is already earning mega bucks!

I read lots of the Vertigo titles, and it is one of my favorite ones (tied with Fables).
The trades are well worth picking up. The books might even increase in value again, since I read today that a movie is in the making!

I agree, this is a very good book. Im wondering how long the writer is going to stick with it though. If he ever leaves Im sure the plot will start trailing off.

i didn't find out about the series until i read the first two TPB.

i'm pretty sure Vaughn is going to do the full run. it is his property, plus i'm guessing that like other Vertigo titles, this story has a limited run planned. i mean, once Yorick reaches his girlfriend, how much more can they do.

movie? TV's a better fit, it's very episode-friendly

Post by WalrusCyclone »

People are talking movie, but I think there'd be more money to be made in TV. It could be on HBO, Showtime or FX. Anyone who's seen Nip/Tuck on FX can testify that, whether you like it or not, it destroys nearly every other tv show in production value and writing.
Anyway, on TV he could get into all kinds of situations every week, and wander ala the Hulk. Also it wouldn't take much of a big budget after the intitial episode of showing the global disaster.

any comic book would be good as a tv series. it's obvious when you consider that single issues or story arcs can fit into an episode. movies limit you to one specific storyline, or at the very least, the adaptation of the comic. anyways, i think Y could do well either way. I don't know how much more story Vaughn has planned, but let's wait until the series ends before they start a movie based on it. It'd be stupid to do so otherwise.
