I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do

For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.

Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

Some cliches and short-cuts but basically a solid story with more emphasis on story-telling than empty action.

This wasn't a bad story overall, although I think Solar would have helped to repair the ship even without Harada "threatening to expose his identity", since lives were involved. As Harada pointed out “Heroes save lives and you are a hero”. So I felt the whole threatening bit was a little unnecessary. I think they only did this for the cover/shock value.

Another case of the Valiant writers not know how to handel a Shooter villian. Lame story.

An interesting idea bogged down in the execution. The space ark is an intriguing idea for an issue (I just wish it hadn't dominated Harada's character for two years!).

But the action is just kind of bland. I didn't quite understand what Solar did to the bald guy that would prevent him from dying before the ark makes reachs it's destination.

And harada's stock villian dialog seemed completely out of characters. Especially the part about Solar wouldn't kill him on the spot because he's a good guy. Huh? Must not be the same Solar from issue 1-12 (he'ld kill Harada bacause he IS a hero). I don't understand why there truce is still on anyway.

A 6.
