Price Guide Update

Post by Vault-Keeper »

I've noticed several 'hot' books, most noticably the VVSS issues, have settled down a bit on the current Price Guide update. Any comments?--Steve G

My advice on the VVSS is: sell all your doubles before you're left holding the hot potato!

I'm exaggerating, but I really don't see autographed comics (even with the certs and embossing) as sustaining current values. Then again, I bought ten issues of the glow in the dark Ghost Rider cover so what do I know? :?

Well, it appears the "new blood" in the Valiant market has been
mainly interested in pre-Unity books and Gold variants...
(and they've only been dropping large dollars on CGC versions of such...)

While each Valiant collector is different...
there have been statements made by a few guys
to indicate that VVSS is not on their "personal" wantlists.
(At least, not for the prices they'd been on Ebay.)

So, if the supply outweighs demand...

Exactly! However, if these books come back into the frame in any way they will still sell for $50-100. The print runs are crazy..1000, even 800!!!

I'm keeping mine. I don't want to have to find them again. The ones I sold/traded recently were ones I have 3 or more of, which wasn't many.

i would say sell-if you can get the high and outragous prices otherwise hold on to 'em...people can SAY whatever they want-but when push comes to shove-if you find out all you need is the vvss issues for 100% eventually the bug will get you.

new collectors are focusing elsewhere for now-because of the high prices-and the fact that they have so many holes to fill. in a year when they are practically done-and the find a "cheap" vvss or two along the way they'll come begging for yours! :D

I disagree. I believe that the VVSS are already back on the swing up. The lower prices we saw was when everyone on these boards had pretty much acquired all the VVSS they were willing to purchase. The new valiant "surge" has shown considerable interest in also buying the VVSS. I expect them to stay around the $50-75 range for the majority of the summer. I guess this is a substantial drop from the $80-100 they were commanding earlier but significantly more then the $35-$50 they were just selling at a month ago. The major selling point is the limited numbers. When only 1000 exist, they're pretty damn rare no matter how you look at it. And with collectors like ckb, dino and I holding onto our copies, they will only become scarcer in the future when the real "surge" hits. If this past weekend is any indication to what the future holds, were going to see some new records set pretty soon.

Those comics are the hardest things I've ever had to put up on e-bay...but he's worth it.

It's like a pre-code book. It was a better candidate for the "white wraparound" than the severed arm cover.

Yeah, that second cover on EW was just a marketing gimmick...don't know if it worked, as I was out of comics at the time.
