Defiant - Issue List
Moderators: Daniel Jackson, greg
I do not have one that has the letter but I am in the process of getting a scan of one. Hopefully I will get it either tonight or tomorrow. But I KNOW that they must exist as I have seen one but just didnt trust my memory.
I won one of the books and cards off Ebay a while back and now I remember being a bit bummed that the letter had not come with it.

Here is a scan of the letter that came with this issue.Technique wrote:None of mine have a letter. I do have a note for the item that reads:Knightt wrote:Didnt this also come with a letter from the company explaining a few things ?Technique wrote:Dark Dominion #1 (DF s. Wein,James,Downs, of 750)
*Already mentioned by another poster.
*There are LOTS of these that have been signed in blue marker by Shooter. Some come with a sealed three-pack of cards that are supposedly limited to 5000. The cards are Lorca, Steampit, and Mr. Fingerman.
"Some may have the "River Group" letter (not by Shooter) that accompanied the comic."
So I suppose that some do.
Do you have one with a letter?
Now that you mention it I recall one on ebay but the starting bid was too high. I don't recall exactly what the letter said.

So, I submit these..... (I see them on the list, but haven't seen others post them)

Anyone else have these?? I received mine back in the day of living at home and attending High School or College, not 100% sure of the date.

Hell, I am still at my office. I will scan and post those four pages tonight! I also have a UK book that has Plasm on one side, Valiant on the other with a 6 page write up about Shooter. Its magazine size, so I may need to copy it here at work, reduce it and post it. My scanner at home is only an 8.5"x11"Knightt wrote:Please do...

Knight, are you familiar with the Definant / Triumphant "non-crossover crossover"?
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
I just pulled all of these books out. The unidentified characters are definately Wardancer characters that never developed.Knightt wrote:I sure am... but the art quality of the Triumphant issues is SO horrid that I would not even buy them or try to get them just for the 'poster cameos' of Defiant characters.Heath wrote:Knight, are you familiar with the Definant /Triumphant "non-crossover crossover"?
On a side note, the art to some of the books (chromium man in particular) was done by Adam Pollina. A precurser to working with Shooter at Defiant.

I think the reason we like a lot of stuff that doesn't really measure up when viewed objectively is because often the concept outstrips the execution. I know for myself, often I'll like a book or movie or whatever because it's a cool idea, not necessarily how it was done. Sure, great execution of a great concept is the goal, but I can be happy with something not as well done because the concept works for me. Sometimes the idea rolling around in my brain is better than the material that brought it to life.architect wrote:I agree, but for some reason I like them, its not for the art or story though!Knightt wrote:... these books blow IMO.
