Definitely. If we accept that they are the sum total of what comic book stores ordered, it'd show that comics can survive without Diamond.

I can't help but wonder what the numbers would be if Derek Kolstad wasn't involved would they be lower, the same, or higher?
Some of this success is because he's wrote the John Wick movies (and FTR I love the John Wick movies) but that is an easy selling point *From the writer of John Wick comes this exciting sci-fi comic!"
Still, that is impressive sales number.

I recently listened to the Bob Layton interview courtesy of @southerncomicgeek. In the interview Bob was talking about how they flooded the market with over 1M Turok #1s, contributing to the eventual 90s collapse. Bob referenced they had done some market research and they estimated about a 500k customer base at the time. If that’s what it was back then for a popular Valiant brand, makes me think this book will be readily available for the comic book community down the road with this print run. I enjoy Bad Idea and will definitely pick it up at some point for the read, but wondering if we’ll see a ton of these in back issue bins in the future. Am I thinking about this in the right way?
