Great books Michael. Two of the best non pre-Unity books to be able to add to a collection. Magnus vs Predator TPB is a ghost in 9.8

Has anybody seen raws in better condition? If you have one, submit it, and I will gladly pay you 50x what I paid for this one if it comes back in 9.8!

NO ONE can beat this!!!
Marvel Spotlight 5 ~ first appearance of Ghost rider cgc 3.5
Ghost Rider 1 cgc 6.0 first series
Out of a rubbish bin!
Thing was it was my rubbish bin!
Oh yes, oh yes indeed.
Some of you may know, about my fear of my collection getting donated, binned ~ or just lost. Manly due to my in laws dying and seeing very valuable items donated, binned, or sold for peanuts.
We my wife was clearing up, and decided to put some boxes in the bin. On of those boxes was a recent delivery back from cgc via scotts collectables. It was a very large box, heaps of packaging. In the very bottom I had left the two comics above with foam above it, and then filled the box back in with other packaging.
I was wondering if I was going to sell them or not, now I know they are going, along with alot of other items.
I think this is the second time I have found comics in the bin, or another rare item.
What is common, for lego as an example. the packaging gets thrown away! I now store the lego packaging in a place she cannot reach.

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
to give my wife some credit, she did find my missing issue of TMNT adventure s issue 3 of the first mini in my son's bedroom.
I then sold the set for £120.
it's not all bad.

Miracle on Broadway for $85 including shipping. I'll say its a 9.0 or 9.2 if graded. I got it on eBay. I was the only bidder. The item was listed under regular books.

Bees and disease - that sounds like a pretty good price to me but I don’t have a real clear idea on what a price for Miracle on Broadway would be.deciquio wrote: Mon Jun 06, 2022 8:59 pm Miracle on Broadway for $85 including shipping. Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
The wife and I pared down our DVD collection. We ended up with two paper bags full of DVDs and she asked me to get rid of them. DVDs aren’t selling for a whole lot, so I went down to the flea market and traded for a copy of The Fighting Yank from 1946, conservatively about a 4.0. The guy wishes me luck in finding out more about it than he could. I get home, check the indica (no. 19 , Feb 1947) and run it through duckduckgo and sure enough, MyComicShop has one https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=51793670 and there is one on eBay, about the same price but not as good a shape.
It strikes me as odd that this guy said he had a hard time finding much about the comic but he seemed like he was more a Hot Wheels guy. He had comics on his wall, and some weird ones. I remember he had a couple of Ultraverse books, Giant Size Wrath #1 for $12 and All New Exiles Phoenix Resurrection (not even the gold!) 0 for $30. I asked about those and he starts telling me that #1s are always a good investment, will always be worth more and will always go up in price.

Love the story. Love the book. Good on you on the price!
Hot wheels guys always puzzle me. They have so many new cars that seem worth about $1 each. Always at swap meets.

Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
I know DVDs aren’t selling for much and trying to move a couple of sacks of DVDs would not be easy. I had a pretty good idea that this guy would probably be my first choice for trading, so I checked out his booth, did a loop around the rest of the flea market and went back. I asked if he would be interested in taking DVDs in trade, he said he’d have to check them out first. I get the DVDs out of the car and come back and there is another guy there, the kind of guy you’d expect to see in a flea market. The booth guy starts checking the disks for scratches and starts negging, pointing out a scratched disk of a Dr Strange cartoon (fair point) and telling me he can’t move the Ginger Rogers movies. Guy #2 was interested in the movies the booth guy said he’d have a hard time moving. Booth guy sets aside the full series of Mama’s Family, which guy #2 was really interested in. Guy #2 starts asking if he could buy these from me if booth guy passes, booth guy, still inspecting disks, says we still might deal and that we hadn’t even said what I’d want to get for the DVDs. I said I was interested in trading for the Fighting Yank comic (which he had priced at $85). He almost dropped the disk he was checking, asked “you’d trade all this, for that?” I said yes and he stopped checking disks and said we had a deal. I am guessing he had had the comic for a while and had had a hard time moving it and thought he would have an easier time with two sacks of DVDs. He said that three different guys had shown interest but nobody ever bought it. He said that he had a hard time finding anything about it and looking at the other comics he had on his wall and how he had them priced, I think he mostly tried to research these comics from a box of Wizard comics from 1993.
Guy #2 asked about the DVDs he was interested in and I said “He’s Mama now.” Seemed like a good line to finish with, I headed out.

Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
Best deal I got in the last year was the original preliminary drawing for Alex Ross' "DC Mythology" cover. Greg and I spent some time discussing how I came about getting this piece of art because I picked it up for a better price than either he or I could compute. And so, later I authenticated it across a few unassailable sources and even managed to dig up it's transfer history after Ross let it go. The short of it is that it began with Ross, went to the official Warner Brothers store that used to be in a high income area of the Chicago Suburbs, went to an area collector/LCS chain owner, went to a large LCS chain here, and then wound up with me.
Heritage and I have discussed selling it on their platform. The plan was to include it in their upcoming September 8-11 art auction (you guys might've received the catalog for that in the mail maybe even today). I decided to keep it but had I sent it in, it would've been listed with Brian Bolland's Wonder Woman #63 cover, Mignola's Batman #429 cover and even some Don Heck Tales of Suspense #39 art.
This one is too big to not have in secure storage, but I might even list it on Wave1Collectibles.com just for $#!(s and giggles when I finally decide to pour a lot more inventory over there.

The image above is a camera photograph I took quickly sometime back. But the next time I get this piece out of storage and over to my office I'll scan it with this new high-end scanner I picked up for slabs recently to make a better image. Maybe in a few weeks.
