X-O Manowar Unconquered #2
At the risk of sounding controversial…..this issue was sorta interesting
Turns out the people trying to capture Aric and the XO armour are the Romans captured by the Vine way back when Aric was also captured. Somehow they battled and won against the Vine, capturing ships and new technology along the way. So what seemed a bizarre link to Roman culture from issue 1 is reasonably well explained here. I think this is a really good use of continuity and could lead to a good story arc.
The Romans rebelling against the Vine and what comes next actually sounds like a compelling story, I’d buy that if it was released as a mini.
Whilst I like Sharp’s art, it can be a little murky at times, this along with the story telling style can be a tricky read. I really don’t like the armour redesign where it covers his eyes.
Overall I’ll give this a generous 4/5 - mainly for the good use of continuity

There night be an interesting story in here but the incoherent artwork makes it hard to tell.
