Pressing for a X-O Manowar 2017 Book
Hi all. I have a X-O book from the 2017 run that I wanted to get pressed and CGC graded. This series has a heavier paper stock cover on all the books. I’m wondering if pressing still works on these thicker covers to press out wrinkles/warps. Has anyone had experience with pressing these books? Thanks!

- Especially "dude." And "balls." Those terms work in the tech industry.

Pressing is not likely to work on the prestige formats. The paper is more durable, but creases and corner blunts are not repairable. You also have to watch for faint scratches. They also can’t be fixed and the finish on the books are more susceptible to scratches.

Thanks. Super helpful. I have a minor edge crush I was hoping I could press out, but makes sense that these books are not ones to be submitted. Thanks again!

I have pressed them.
It helps… especially with cleaning the covers.

Thanks Aport. In your experience, have you found that wrinkles or warps are also pressed out?

To a small degree… yes.
Also… remember there are a few covers in that series that are not card stock… comic pro covers, humble bumble, BaT exclusive, NYCC exclusive.

Heavy stock and card stock covers can be pressed of minor imperfections but will likely require multiple pressing sessions. I recently pressed a few dozen Valiant Nintendo games from the early 90s and most books needed 2-6 times in the press to get rid of even minor flaws.
