I'm not really reading any Valiant books right now. I'm tentatively excited for Shadowman (who nobody has gotten right since Bob Hall), but beyond that there's not much appealing to me. I don't even know why they're still trying to push X-O when that first arc from Hopeless was horrendously written. Well drawn (Shanhara redesign aside), but terrible story and dialogue. I'm getting more enjoyment out of Zenescope books these days.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

I thought Diggle's run was great. Operation: Deadside and Rapture were solid too.

+1 for Diggle's run which is one of my favorite VEI stories.

Too bad it was cut short. I believe the best part of Diggle's story was yet to come.

However, there's no denying that VEI's Jack Boniface is quite different from Bob Hall's version of the character.

I agree with you guys on everything said about those newer Shadowman runs. I liked them. I am also still a fan of most of Justin Jordan’s run with the first 2012 VEI launch too.

Sorry to say it, but that cover art for the FCBD book is brutally awful. As is the armor redesign - really not a fan of anything about it, but especially that oversized bubble helmet (unless that is just a really poor artistic interpretation for that cover).

Cucked-out SJW communist antifa virtue signaler here: yes, this cover sucks. Also, is it just me, or is the red "Valiant Uprising" logo/trade-dress really bad too? It looks like something that should be on an ad for a furniture store in a newspaper. I guess someone thought big red letters would stand out, but it looks really amateur-hour to me.

I feel like I am supposed to disagree with you because of all those credentials you mentioned but I just can’t.

And it wouldn’t be a nice furniture store. One of those discount furniture stores.

It's absolute hot garbage. The Free Comic Book Day logo (which is usually the ugliest part of these book) is the only that that looks good. There are 900 fonts on this cover, there is no order to the elements, is it featuring X-O Manowar? because that logo is just sitting there, the spacing between logos is inconsistent, the placement of elements is inconsistent, why are the three circles not in a grid, what is shadowman even doing? and thats all on top of the steam pile of trash that is the art.

There's also something wrong with Planet Earth and Earth Moon assuming that's supposed to be them on the cover.

I can't even focus on watermelon helmet and chastity belt because of those two.

But if I manage to focus it looks like Aric is getting bald. :!:

You're all wrong, the only thing good about this is it's free.
I-Only judge porn by the cover.

I am never sure I spell his name right, but it is something like Giorgio Tsoukalos.

I guess they dumped the crappy cover.

http://valiantentertainment.com/2021/06/17/42393/

I can't tell if its just a worthless preview book or if they will have some original prelude like content.
