Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
DCBS has done me a favor. And, yeah, DCBS hasn't stocked my copies of Bloodshot 8 and 9 either. I hadn't noticed, and that means I don't care.
I've been re-reading all the Acclaim Valiant run recently and absolutely despise all of those books -- even the ones I liked back in the day are dreadful. It's time to post them on eBay. Or maybe I should do humanity a favor and just throw them all in the trash.
It's also sunk in that Valiant is only good when a visionary is running the show. For most of its history Valiant has either sucked or not existed. I don't feel like waiting for another great visionary to come along. It's time to say goodbye to Valiant and part with most of my Valiant collection as well.
Goodbye Valiant! It was occasionally nice to know you. I guess you never had a chance against corporate greed.

You will regret getting rid of it all.

Well I was going to make a whole new post about March solicitations, but I really don't think it's necessary, seeing as OP seems to be spot on about the rest of 2021.
This is embarrassing. Do they really think two issues is enough?

It really looks bad and valiant has no direction.Seems they just want to put out little as possible with no vision to 2022.

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
Perhaps it's telling that I finally sat down to comb through my DCBS list of unshipped items and see that Doctor Tomorrow 5, Bloodshot 8 and 9, Rai 7, 8, 9 and 10 and X-O 2 have all been released these past few months and yet DCBS either never got them or at least none of them were shipped to me.
X-O 2 was in my most recent shipping list for several weeks, but when that batch of goodies shipped X-O noticeably vanished from my list of shipped items. What's down with that?
I'm obviously so used to not getting Valiant books and not caring about them anyway that I had no (bad) idea I was missing out. So what's up with DCBS?
And, no, I won't get rid of Valiant books I enjoy, but my diehard days of loving and supporting Valiant are gone. Doctor Who is going that way as well.

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
When the books are this bad (Rai aside) then I’d say 2 books is plenty! Until we get new editors then expect the standard to remain low.TheFerg714 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 9:09:48 pm Well I was going to make a whole new post about March solicitations, but I really don't think it's necessary, seeing as OP seems to be spot on about the rest of 2021.

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
Finally caught up with Bloodshot. I have to say that the new series isn't bad, although it's nowhere as deep as what Lemire was doing with the character. And there's a disconnect with Lemire's series, as there's no explanation of what happened with Magic, and they really should fill in that gap.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Wasn’t there only 1 issue of Visitor left to put out?? Surely they can do that.Sunlight on Snow wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 4:42:08 am Diamond is now officially listing the remaining Visitor and all of The Final Witness issues as "cancelled":

The concept for Final Witness actually sounded interesting, can they cancel Harbinger instead??

So the only issue of final witness to be put out was the Emerald City ComicCon Ashcan #1?
Pretty poor to stop Visitor 1 issue short of the run. I think we all knew this was coming but these are decisions that are usually only made by companies not in the best of financial health.

Since the issues were finished, I think this is just a matter of people will have to reorder them. I can't see them never releasing books they already finished. Sad that they keep hyping books only to delay them and then cancelling good series while telling us everything is fine.

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with DCBS, especially with the Pre-Order issues.
Here's what I received from DCBS Customer Support:
"I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of this but we have been having an issue with the pre-order bundle issues not coming in properly and we are trying to get this fixed. We currently do not have an update as to when they will actually be received. If you would prefer another cover for any of these rather than wait let me know and I will see what is available."
Pre-Order Bundles weren't even offered for "Savage" and "Shadowman" by DCBS.

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
Well, yeah. You need the senior editors to wrangle the posse of regular editors. They had 2 monthlies and 2 tpbs in the last Previews, so they should have like 18 to 20 editors and 6 or 7 senior editors. And they all need assistants! But strangely, one thing they don’t need is an office or an address. Or a predictable, monthly publishing schedule. All you really need is a PO Box and a Twitter account that asks readers who are their favourite Marvel and DC characters three times a day but never really mentions X-O Manowar or Harbinger.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 3:16:37 pmCorrection...not enough senior editors !Chiclo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:20:09 pmThe problem is obvious. Meh, these children probably don’t even feel like they need a PO Box. They’ve never mailed a letter with a stamp or paid a bill with a handwritten check. But they do want a geek chic social media presence that talks about Avengers movies and anime but not Archer and Armstrong.
I am not sure what got me in such a boomer-ranting mood today.

Yeah I noticed that trick on Twitter to use Marvel and DC comparisons to stay relevant when there are next to no books coming out and the ones that are being released are sub par. Kudos to whoever runs the Twitter account though for making lemonade out of lemons !

Re: Valiant Solicitations February 2021 and Beyond
The shops I frequent all talk about how they think Valiant is done with publishing. If that’s the sentiment, then why would they order any copies?
