Just a quick update on the Defiant Fanzine 2020. Kickstarter is processing the pledges and we shall know the exact print run next weekend. Then I will order the amount of covers, A & B, and the printing usually takes two weeks from order to shipping and receipt here at Lucky Comics HQ. Then, we will process and ship to pledgers...

Hey Valiant Dude,

The books are being printed this week, in fact much of the order is done. I was told the print run will be sent to Lucky Headquarters early next week. I'm planning on releasing the PDFs for download most likely on Wednesday next week, so email me if you want to update your email address for the download.

Shipping Update:

Just a quick message to update the project status. The print runs were ordered and the printer worked miracles to secure printing paper in this challenging pandemic with what most businesses encounter: supply chain problems. He was finally able to complete the print runs and the order was shipped to Lucky Comics Central! It is currently en route with a projected delivery date of March 29th. Of course, that was today and it is still listed as "in transit". So, as with all USPS packages, we wait...

Once it arrives (This week we hope!), I will email the PDF links and begin shipping to all 150 pledgers!

Just read the Defiant Fanzine. I love it. Question for everybody. It said that at one time Defiant was one of the top 4 publishers. Is that true?

I remember Valiant being huge (and top 3 publisher), but don’t remember Defiant being huge enough to be top 4.

I seem to recall reading that Defiant made it as high as no. 7. It was competing not only with DC, Marvel, Image and Dark Horse, but Valiant and Malibu were big players at the time. I don’t think Defiant ever outsold Dark Horse or Image.

Just an update:

77 pledge packages were mailed out today. This includes Cover A, Cover B, and many Cover A & B pledges.
Another 25 will go out tomorrow with the international pledges: Sweden, Canada, France, UK, and a few others.
80% of the digital pledges were sent the google drive link. I respond immediately to any access issues and resolve those within 60 seconds of receiving the access issue email.

I have a limited amount of "scratch & dent" issues available for purchase. Please note these are READER COPIES ONLY. When the printer sent the order around 25 copies (5 cover A and 20 cover B) were damaged by the post office. They have anywhere from slightly crunched corners, to tiny corner chips torn from corners, to slight spine bends. Again, great reader copies if you want an additional or missed out on the Kickstarter. They are not badly damaged, just scratched and dented enough to not meet our high standards for the Kickstarter pledgers.

These copies are priced at:

$6 per issue (printer cost) PLUS $9 Priority Flat Rate Shipping envelope ($8.85 shipping cost) = $15 TOTAL via Paypal.
