I mean, I know - 1st Moon Knight. He is still a tier 3 character. But why is a 9.6 worth close to $15k?
That is way more than a Hulk 181 in that grade, or a GSX 1.

Less than 100 copies of WWBN #32 in CGC 9.6+
Nearly 500 copies of Hulk #181 in CGC 9.6+.
More than 500 copies of GSX-Men #1 in CGC 9.6+.
If there are 100 "hardcore" Moon Knight fans with the money, there aren't enough books.

I get the supply and demand thing. This is why there are high prices, and I am certain that the print run on Hulk was much, much higher. However, there are other factors at play. Like comparisons of perceived value of the book, the character, the huge increase in realized prices in a short time, etc. It's those things that have me puzzled. Some might want it, some might want to invest in it, there might be fewer copies, but why do so many more people suddenly want it.

It's not just a case of supply and demand here. It's the often undiscussed intersection of supply, demand and a niche market with few other outlets. There are people that have been waiting for Moon Knight's "day" for a long time. Those guys don't have many other outlets for buying stuff so they are into their character at a depth that pushes books like this into the stars.
If every hardcore Moon Knight guy had this book in high grade then the general buying market might not be enough to push high grade copies that hard... yet. The same thing happens with Quasar keys. The common slabs? -eh- no big deal, but look at the bidding wars on the Cap 217, Hulk 234 and Quasar #1. Hell do a search for recently sold auctions on Quasar #32, numbered as #1. None of those are as extreme as Moon Knight who is being boosted by speculation, but the point is that both characters have niche followings who don't have much else to buy with the character on it.
Sugar and coffee sales respond to supply and demand, but comic books you have to really consider your audience as an X-factor.... -ahem-.
