State of Comic Stores in May 2020

So here is what I know about comic distribution as of now:

(Cause) DC is essentially selling May titles through DCBS and Midtown until Diamond gets back up and running.
(Effect) Customers are being routed to deep discount sellers, and regular shops only get sloppy seconds at sales of May titles. Some brick and mortar customers will likely stay with the big two online retailers.

(Cause) Marvel is moving a number of titles to digital only.
(Effect) The number of printed titles is likely going to remain lower for the future.

(Cause) A number of retail stores are not going to purchase shelf copies as they can't afford to carry unsold titles.
(Effect) The likelihood of someone picking up a new title will diminish, and this will hurt small press publishers the most.

There’s an interesting thread on the CGC boards, where a LCS is asking what to do with 12k FCB issues. Check it out!
