Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
I know Dinesh doesn't work for Valiant anymore, but my heart goes out to him & to wish him well.
Corona Virus looks like its taking its toll. Stock markets crashed and people fear to be out in groups / aka movies / sports events / F1.
Dinesh put so much time and effort into Valiant, didn't he study cinema production? Buying Valiant gave him an opportunity to use his qualifications and actually produce a film! With no knowledge of publishing ( or law due to rights over characters) How many people who study that degree actually produce a Film released internationally. Bloody Hell WELL DONE.
Dreams come true, well done Dinesh.
And unforeseen circumstances of Coronavirus, may make Bloodshot not achieve its short term goals of cinema viewers.
I have never met Dinesh, I never spoke to him, I received a responce once. I will probably never will met him, but after reading so many posts about someone, following the relaunch and circumstances at Valiant now DMC . Just feel, like bugger, bloody virus and low cinema numbers ( after reading others in another thread, social media, banning gatherings of people ~ or advising against it). You just think, even though he achieved a dream (I don't know his dreams) of making a film, this was like a big moment, now coronavirus.
ya know.
#BadIdea
Just rambling, anyone feel the same? Am I speaking out of my @rse.
Hope it makes enough so he gets a shot at more films.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Very enjoyable film, cinema was 90% full (it is Saturday night though). Vin Diesal did a good job I thought, lots of action, good pacing and pretty good storyline. Very pleased for Dinesh and hopefully it’s a commercial success. As Valiant readers this is something which most of us thought might never happen but at last the characters we’ve been reading for many years is finally on the big screen

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
I saw Bloodshot today and was pleasantly surprised. I’d read the reviews and was worried. I thought it looked good and captured the character. For me it is a solid 8 out of 10. It was a fun flick. Bloodshot has never been my favorite Valiant character but I’ve read all of them. I don’t know how much it will make with everything going on. I only wish they had thrown in a few more Valiant Easter eggs.

Where is the best place to vote? Review? Rate a film for biggest impact.
I will take time to review ~ never reviewed a film, so let me know where to do it for maximum imact .
Every vote/review counts!

unfortunately, they closed all the movie theaters in L.A. today before I was able to see it, now I'm not sure when I'll be able to.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Yep this is terrible news. Now we need Sony to allow a re release after the scare has died down. I want to see it in theaters a couple more times before I buy the blu ray or 4K editions.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
NBC Universal is releasing some of their current theatre releases on demand for $20. Maybe Sony will do this for Bloodshot. Only way I see them surviving this horrible timing.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Shadowsip just shared that they are making it vod starting March 24, so I don’t think so. On the bright side more people can see it sooner so we can all talk about it freely soon. Also we can get that sweet Steelbook edition from Best Buy sooner!maraxusofkeld wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:55:53 am Do you think they may do a re-release in a few months things calm down?

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
First time poster... guys it's really a s---storm for Bloodshot, but I follow movie stats and a couple of bright points from www.boxofficemojo.com:
Also audiences liked it- CinemaScore gave it a "B" and RT has an audience score of 78%.
You wouldn't know all this by reading the critics and the trades who love to rag on Vin and comic book movies in general.

I refuse to provide a link, because this is obviously clickbait, but everything about this headline that I saw is wrong:

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
That's probably a Ben Mendhelson article. The guy is an extreme liberal idiot who writes a movie column for Forbes where he basically by default just takes any position that gives him the most extremely liberal edge or the most elitist perspective. If conservatives or fans in general hated The Last Jedi, he'll write articles about how great it was and how smart he is to understand that, but if conservatives or even hard core fans were more open to The Rise of Skywalker, he'll write an article doubling down on how fan service from Hollywood is a terrible idea and that the Rise of Skywalker catered to the fans while losing it's intellectual edge.
He'll basically just say words. He's a complete POS.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Is his job to write the most insightful movie reviews or to generate the most clicks (hateclicks?) for the articles he has written?IMJ wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:38:09 pm That's probably a Ben Mendhelson article. Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Forbes turned into clickbait, literally. They pay reporters based on number of clicks only. No clicks, no money.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
So the nature of his job changed. You might attract more flies with honey than vinegar, but as demonstrated by this Forbes writer, a modest-sized pile of feces seems to work even better.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Well, they got the BOX OFFICE part right. Or did they? The headline suggests that "the box office indicates..." but everyone knows the cinema results are heavily skewed right now. The box office is nowhere near a reliable source of data.kjjohanson wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 9:49:20 pm I refuse to provide a link, because this is obviously clickbait, but everything about this headline that I saw is wrong:

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
Well yeah, this exactly. What you are saying here and what I'm saying there go hand in hand. Both things are the same truth, which is why I don't use Forbes for anything anymore. Hell, I get enough exposure to that guy from all of the YouTube videos that periodically cover his shill and agenda "movie journalism".Chiclo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 8:15:51 amIs his job to write the most insightful movie reviews or to generate the most clicks (hateclicks?) for the articles he has written?IMJ wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:38:09 pm That's probably a Ben Mendhelson article. Or worse, they "pay" in "exposure." My sister is a film critic and she was approached by them to be a contributor. i.e. they want her work, but they don't want to pay her for it.

Re: Good news about the Bloodshot movie
There's a local 'second run' theater near me that usually has films after they've left the big chains. So there's still hope of seeing it in a theater.
It's actually a little landmark in the area and absolutely gorgeous. And no trailers or commercials to sit through! When the movie time is 7:00, you'll be watching it by 7:05.
