X-O Manowar #0 No White Layer on cover CGC 9.8
I have seen two of these over the years. The other was in poor shape, but this one was worth sending in. I honestly have no idea what it is worth, but I have sense enough not to ask $15k for it like the Rai guy on eBay . It did not get the white (sometimes ivory) layer during production. I’m looking for trade offers at this time.

That is pretty cool. There is a 9.8 Ninjak 1 on EBay right now that is manufactured without some of the chromium. I think these novelties are fun. I’ve had some inconsistent approaches from CGC on these errors. I have a Archer and Armstrong book that is misfit by an inch or more (essentially just white space and the color test strip). They rejected that one. Weird. Others, no problem.

These errors are fun, but since they made nearly a million of these with a process that was literally being used for the first time (X-O #0 was the first full chromium cover in the comic book industry), they seem to be a little "less fun" when the errors happen on the standard version (with cover price). The "big fun" happens with errors happening on books that were already limited (no cover price) like X-O #0 Gold (or Bloodshot #0 Gold... Platinum, specifically).
Have we seen anything unusual on X-O #0 Gold before? I can't think of one.

How about a BS#0 platinum without the chrome inside?

As long as there's no cover price, you can argue it's awesome. Some awesome error books have a cover price, but it's pretty tricky with the chromium high volume books.lobo wrote:How about a BS#0 platinum without the chrome inside?

So a Bloodshot Platinum error?! That is a rare book indeed! What a fun find! I usually find the Ninjak 1 having a much higher rate of missing chromium.

Bought it direct from a seller in Singapore about 4-5 years ago. The seller was listing it for a buddy who found it a local comic store back in the day, but it wasn't clear if was a store in Singapore of if it was purchased elsewhere and the book somehow made the trip to Asia after the fact. But to be clear, this book was still printed in Canada and the same English version (interior) as any other Bloodshot 0.Blood of Heroes wrote:What a crazy book! As of today there are 4 comic book shops in Singapore, well 4 American style comic book shops. There are plenty more manga shops but I don’t visit them so there is a reasonable chance it was bought locally (then again my books have followed me around the world and less than 0.01% were bought locally, although a guy who works across the street from me sold me a Eternal Warrior 5 Mack cover in CGC 9.8 which I thought was cool.lobo wrote:Bought it direct from a seller in Singapore about 4-5 years ago. It’s such a small world.magnus20009 wrote:As of today there are 4 comic book shops in Singapore, well 4 American style comic book shops. I was in SG a few years ago and went to a weekend toy show. It was in a mall with a lot of specialty toy shops and tons of smaller sellers in the hallways. Many of them had boxes of old comics. I didn’t find anything of interest, but all the different toys from across APAC were really cool, and of course all the action figure modifications you can get. That was my first exposure to that kind of thing.
