Dang what a *SQUEE* ... got into the hotel lottery form almost instantly but got shut out of the downtown hotels. I'll have to try and pick up some scraps later, maybe Town and Country or something.

Yeeha! Got Marriott Gaslamp in the second round of emails. Wasn't expecting that but I'll take it!

That locks down all the tough stuff. Moving on.

So is Poker Night still a thing?

And I don’t see any beer festivals on the schedule yet. I’d hate to have to get drunk the old-fashioned way.

BTW, are we going to have any kind of Valiant presence this year? Not that there's been anything interesting in the past. I think a couple of years ago the only Valiant thing I saw in the entire con was a pair of socks.

Comic Con is auctioning off pairs of passes that were returned. First few went in the $4000-6000 range but the last few have settled in around $2500 per pair.

There were times I've been shut out when I would have paid $1000 for a four-day pass.

Hop Con passes just went on sale. It will be Thursday night, which suits me fine. It means I can reserve the champions booth at Lucha Libre Taco Shop for Wednesday.

Just got tickets to Hop Con 7.0. A little disappointed they won't have those kielbasa pigs-in-blankets. I think I ate 40 of those last year.

I think I will just give up on ever attending SDCC.
No point as an international traveller, tickets and planning ( never used to plan anything but now with 3 kids!).
Also for New York con - I give up, plus would of liked to met Dino face to face and get a valiant tour ( either of which is probably not going to happen).

Still a trip to USA is on the cards.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

This year I am going with a friend so some of the big costs, like hotels, are cut in half. One plane ticket and one badge is not so bad. Total cost without counting spending money is about a grand.

I spent about five times that last year by taking my kids.

The kids aren’t coming??? You can’t come to poker unless you bring Tom.

He turns 21 this summer. He wants to go to New Orleans this year but he'll be back next year.

Hey guys,
I've got 1 4 day pass, + Preview night available. Can get your name on the badge too. Asking $300, which is just like $9 over face value, to round it off evenly.
If you know anyone who needs a pass, please have them get in touch! First come, first served.
People here can vouch for me :-)

Aw man... Why do I have to be moving? I would totally take you up on this, but we are literally moving in to the new house that week.
