Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
One thing that I wonder about is what could happen if people outside of collecting Valiant decide to get serious about this stuff. We don't value the VEI previews much but speculators do. I know there's a lot of books with previews in them.
Look how Rai 0 recently got pricier when people outside of Valiant started buying them. Most of us look at EW 4 being the big key. I used to buy Rai's for dirt cheap.

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
Since Animalia copies cartoon characters that’s she’s seen, when she portrays those characters, arguably those are the first appearance of those characters (which could matter if Valiant ever decides to do a kids’ comic, or something else with those characters:
Humble Bumble (Harbinger 17)
Samarai Sue (Harbinger 17)
Boran the Puppy Pirate (Harbinger 17)
Skeleton Pelican (Harbinger 17)

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
Would we agree that the most important NEW character first appearances in VEI are limited to these 6 (listed alphabetically):
Antonius Axia - Britannia #1
Colonel Jamie Capshaw - X-O Manowar #15
Divinity (Abram Adams) – Divinity #1
Punk Mambo - Shadowman (2012) #13
Roku (Shadow Seven) – Ninjak (2015) #1
Savage - Savage #1
I would argue that Divinity and Punk Mambo stand head and shoulders above the other 4.
I have excluded all reimaged characters whether the changes were small (Quantum & Woody) or larger (like Livewire)

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
If things are as they are suggested to be on the last page of Forgotten Queen #3, then I'd put War Monger in there before some others. Arguably, the new Doctor Mirage is an entirely new character (her husband is the original character). Livewire is completely redesigned but not entirely newmagnus20009 wrote:Would we agree that the most important NEW character first appearances in VEI are limited to these 6 (listed alphabetically):

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
For those who want to pick out V1 characters to include, I have posted the 1993 Heroes & Villains Roster. While scanning it I quickly realized that it contains way too many characters to be used directly here, but hopefully it can be of some help.

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
With the recent teaser image that Valiant has put out on social media, I would speculate that the next new book like Punk Mambo will be Dr Mirage (Shadowman #5). Already, eBay is showing very few of Shadowman #5 books, as people are starting to scoop them up.

Wow! I love Animalia, and I never thought about this. Damn, I still need that 1:20, before they around and make a cartoon.kjjohanson wrote:Since Animalia copies cartoon characters that’s she’s seen, when she portrays those characters, arguably those are the first appearance of those characters (which could matter if Valiant ever decides to do a kids’ comic, or something else with those characters:

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
That already had a bump, back in December, when they announced a show was in development at the CW. Not sure if another mini will give it another bump, but news about the series should.TheeBaldMoose wrote:With the recent teaser image that Valiant has put out on social media, I would speculate that the next new book like Punk Mambo will be Dr Mirage (Shadowman #5). Where is Father? He's only like the Toyo Harada of the future.

Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
There were rumors about a CW show featuring Doctor Mirage, so if that happens, I would expect an even bigger pop. That also raises the question about who the primary antagonist would be. I imagine that any rights to Master Darque would be attached to Shadowman rather than Mirage. One big possibility is Linton March, who has now appeared in several different Valiant comics, including Wrath of the Eternal Warrior, Ninja-K, and his first appearance in the Death-Defying Doctor Mirage mini series. Since that mini featured no incentives, the Comichron numbers are pretty low for #1 (first appearance), and tiny for the other 4 issues (like, not even top 300 or 400 tiny). That could be a decent key book or series later on.TheeBaldMoose wrote:With the recent teaser image that Valiant has put out on social media, I would speculate that the next new book like Punk Mambo will be Dr Mirage (Shadowman #5). Re: VH1 and VEI 1st Appearance (MASTER LIST)
I'm not sure if this counts as a first appearance of a "new character" because "Magpie" is Jack Boniface/Shadowman.
But... the first appearance of Jack Boniface as the "Magpie Character" (with glowing blue ropes) is Ninjak #10.

If this was Marvel or DC, you know they'd find a way to shoehorn Magpie in there alongside ShadowmanJuki wrote:I'm not sure if this counts as a first appearance of a "new character" because "Magpie" is Jack Boniface/Shadowman.
