Have been going through my collection recently and looking to get rid of some books I'm not attached to.

I have a fair amount of VH1 books that my Dad collected in the 90's, was never really into the Valiant books much.

Thought I would start out with some proof copies he got from a family friend who did something with Marketing/PR for Valiant.

Would greatly appreciate any and all feedback on if there's a market for these and how to value them as I've been struggling to find data online.

Here's a list of the titles and issues, can send pictures as well:
[*]Magnus - 14, 29 (2 copies), 31, 32
[*]Turok - 6 (2 copies)
[*]Secret Weapons - 2, 3
[*]Harbinger - 22
[*]Archer & Armstrong - 18
[*]Rai and the FF - 17[/s][/color]

Update - Lot sold for $525
Update - Here's a link to photos for all 12 books https://photos.app.goo.gl/vZXNpacTcTAZnGt67" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is there anything about the books that separates them from regular copies that everyone has?

Are the edges uncut? Some proofs are larger than normal comics because they still have the edges that are normally cut away.
Are the books missing staples? Some proofs never get stapled.
Do the books come with an original envelope from Valiant Marketing/PR?

The value is usually dependent upon what is different about these books compared to every other copy in Valiant collections.

Yes - Uncut edges, no staples, there's print in the border that extends out from the innermost folded page (for example on A&A 18 it reads: OP-18 ARCHER AND ARMSTRONG /10045/#18 / Sect.02/NAT 9-24)

PM sent. This sounds exactly right, but it is hard to say a value. I would love to be part of any bidding you get going.

Updated original post with a pic of one of the Magnus 29's.

Happy to send/post any specific issue pics if there's interest. Still trying to figure out the board and how to post with size limits, and can't send jpeg in PM.

I'm very interested as well. I have a few of these, but I can't seem to find what I paid for them. I'm guessing it was in the $30-40 range. I can pull them out later this week and see if I can glean more info.

I would say the same.
The earlier the better on Valiant proof books (also called "make-ready" or "make-readies"), with a "bonus value" for proofs of Valiant gold or other limited books.
The Magnus #14 is the one that stands out from the list, since it's a pre-Unity book. The others are still nice pieces of Valiant history as proofs, but they correspond to regular issues without any particular popularity or increased value.
