Valiant Sunday - Punk Mambo with Adam Gorham
Hey guys, I got a chance to chat with Adam Gorham last week about the upcoming Punk Mambo title. He seems pretty excited to be back at Valiant and the work I have seen so far looks great. Mambo has not been a character I have liked much in the past but this series may change that as I am a big fan of Cullen Bunn as well as Adam. really hoping this series fleshes her out in a good way. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the interview.

Great stuff, Jace! As usual, you’re an ace interviewer. Great to hear a little more inside info about his process in working on this book.
I’ve said it before recently around here - I’m really looking forward to seeing what Adam does with this series. The few snippets I’ve seen so far are fantastic. And everything he described about the subject matter of the story and how much the flavour & fabric of it (and the sources of those flavours) are inspiring to him only serves to increase my anticipation. Whenever an artist is *that* inspired by the subject matter, the results are always above & beyond excellent.

Also very cool that he dove into this job right after doing that New Mutants mini-series... the fact that Punk Mambo is in a similar subject vein as doing illyana in NM is a good thing. I am in the process of purchasing some of his original art pages from that New Mutants mini- if he’s at or above the level he hit in NM, we are all definitely in for a real treat here!

Thanks for the kind words Josh. Totally agree with you.
