My New Year's Resolution for 2019 Is...
... finally completing my sets of classic V1 titles! Down to probably just under 20 issues I still need. And if I'm feeling really ambitious, I may tackle getting the Acclaim runs too. Got Quantum and Woody out of the way and the movie-related Bloodshot issues. I also have several keys to get CGC'd here in the coming months. Good times!

Re: My New Year's Resolution for 2019 Is...
Comic resolutions: Finally getting a Hulk 181 before it gets too expensive for me to own and start to maybe entertain the idea of collecting Valiant original art. I “need” a nice framed OA cover for the nerdery.
Personal resolution: Be a better dad (Spend more quality time with my daughter).

Comics-related:
- stop buying current comics for me as they are released- wait for feedback and tradewait whatever is "good".
- Try to avoid the upcoming Detective Comics 1000 madness, at all costs. YOU DON'T NEED MORE THAN ONE COPY, MAN!!!!!! OR 2, MAX 3!!!
- read every single Grendel comic that I haven't yet.
- read Life and Death of Toyo Harada as it comes out and be thankful that it is in my hands;
- start to getting rid of excessive stuff, like for real- my "guitar/office" room is cluttered with carded toys and short boxes of comics.
- Most important: start (finally!!!) pushing more mature comics to my son, he's turning 14 in March- time for Morrison's Doom Patrol and Alan Moore's Swampy TPBs. Kid is a really bright teen, he loves horror (a la Stranger Things and the like... not Texas Chainsaw Massacre ) and weird stuff, so no worries there. Also, i'm gonna start his first pullbox, he loves the Titans, Flash and Supergirl from the CW stuff, and he loved what books I got him so far (a lot), even in Portuguese- he already prefers to read in english. Gonna start buying 2 or 3 comics for him on a monthly basis, just hope the stuff that's coming out is entertaining, at least.

Hope your son enjoys those comics you want to introduce to him - good choices!

I plan on buying as many Big Premire issues of Marvels 1969 reboot as possible without using the credit card.
Making Iron Man the final one because its so expensive.
Also get my Giant Size X-Men #1 and my 1969 Namor #1 reslabbed. Both have old ones and think they would look better in the newer enclosures.

Re: My New Year's Resolution for 2019 Is...
My resolutions:
1) Keep my Valiant monthlies collection complete.
2) Try to get caught up on Valiant reading (I'm stuck in early 2017.)
3) Complete a few back issue collections on my Marvel hunting list. Next up for completion: The Thing (1983) and Punisher War Journal (1988).

Don't forget you can get a copy that presents really nicely and won't totally break the bank if you're willing to accept the Marvel Value Stamp being cut out! I bought a really rough VG- copy with the stamp intact for about $250 a while back, but if I could do it again I might go for a nicer copy without the stamp.Summydad1 wrote:Finally getting a Hulk 181 before it gets too expensive for me...

Re: My New Year's Resolution for 2019 Is...
My main comic resolutions:
• Catch up with Valiant reading (I'm a good deal behind)
• Catch up with organizing my collection. (Ideally looking to grade and file books as they come in.)
• Get all of the books I no longer want listed on eBay. (Already got a good start on this at the end of last year)
• Complete my VH1 and Acclaim collection. (Easy if I don't include all of the premium books.)

If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.
