Rarest Bloodshot Comic book?

Post by TheeBaldMoose »

Haven't posted this here, but I was the winner of the Bloodshot Salvation #12 Lewis Larosa cover with Vin Diesel as Bloodshot. Probably not as desirable or as iconic as the "pink" Bloodshot, or as desired as the Platinum books, but hey it's brand new.

What are your thoughts?

Well that's pretty cool. I didn't even know there was a contest. Is that a mass produced variant on any scale?

As the owner of the “pink,” all I can say is you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind item there, something that is currently true for my book. From what I’ve gathered on the history of the pink error of the Bloodshot 0, another or multiple copies may still turn up. Not so with your lovely. It is certainly the only one!

Feel free to remind us of the details of that beautiful piece! Metal? A comic? I’m really unclear on the facts as I was not in contention to bid in the charity auction.

No. From what I can patch together, Vin Diesel likes motivational posters when he works out. In one of his instagram pictures some time back, a few people spotted a Bloodshot poster in the back of his gym. So, I think it was Dinesh who asked (and paid for I think) this art from Lewis Larosa as a surprise motivational poster, Larosa's vision of what Vin Diesel would look like if he were Bloodshot. It mistakenly hit twitter (The black and white version), and things went crazy from there.

Fast forward to right about the conclusion of primary filming, Reach Out World Wide, a group that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel put together to respond to natural disasters, put on their annual fundraiser. Dinesh posted a few of the prizes that were available, this comic book was one of them. I purchased a few tickets and won it!

It is the first image of Vin as Bloodshot. I do hope it becomes the movie poster, or at least one of them!

That's great, man. I'm glad that something like that found it's way into the real "Valiant Family" too....
It's too bad we don't have a Valiant zine going like we used to do on Advanced Iron. Maybe it could've been my second trip to Cali for a Hollywood movie event! LOL! I really, really want this flick to be great...

Very cool book. Love that it found a perfect home. I think it’s a super cool project book, especially as it’s connected to the first Valiant movie. Error books are fun too, like the pink. Prototypes are even cooler, because they are official. Lots of aspects to focus collecting on. Makes it fun.

Congrats TheeBaldMoose,

I'm glad you won it! I bought a couple of chances as well. Awesome one of a kind book!

It is nice that a true fan owns it.

Rarest Bloodshot?.... You can't get any rarer than 1 of 1!

I do not care for the bald bloodshot. It doesn't look like Bloodshot to me.
If the movie only has white makeup on a bald head, I'll be very displeased. Those weird scars/parts in his hairline are a big part of the bloodshot look to me.

Ya, I also like my Bloodshot with a cool crew cut and lightning bolts in his hair. Truth.

Disagree.

WE all know where this book came from, what it means, and how it came to be. Dinesh himself promoted it. Green label or not, there does exist an interest in such things. Several books from yesteryear that were signed prior to CGC hold strong value to specific collectors.

No bubble to burst.

No $5.00 will buy.

Be angry and/or frustrated about whatever, but this is an interesting and unique item that several fans and collectors will and do recognize.

As far as the modern Valiant "ultra rare" books go, I think of this book and the Quantum & Woody #1 Second Printing (one of one) as the top two books, and for me, this Bloodshot is a better book than the Q&W #1 2nd Print. :thumb:

For the record, I realize Bloodshot #0 Pink is unique, but it's a unique Gold prototype or something like that, and I'm a bigger fan of the Bloodshot #0 Platinum... since each copy is like the heads on a mythological Platinum hydra than a random one-time pink-gold mutation. :D

Exactly, this one is widely recognized by the Valiant community, and although CGC wouldn't put a yellow label on it doesn't change the recognition factor across the hobby. The CGC observation above might be valid in regards to more vetting needed outside the greater Valiant circles, but if it was ever sold it would probably be pursued by another Valiant die-hard anyway, sooo....
