My Find of the Year!
This weekend I attended a mini con at a library. There were a decent amount of comic dealers. No modern Valiant to be found and some with vintage stuff priced pretty close to the current going rates or even more (Magnus 12 for $40 anyone?). Right before I left I happened to stumble across one dealer's setup tucked away in a corner. For $1 each, I picked up the following:
X-O Manowar 1
X-O Manowar 4
Magnus Robot Fighter 0 (With Card)
Magnus Robot Fighter 0 (Without Card)
Magnus Robot Fighter 1 (NO COUPON)
Magnus Robot Fighter 2 (NO COUPON)
Bloodshot 1 (2 Copies Just 'cause)
Rai 0 (GLOSSY!)
Rai 2
Eternal Warrior 4
Deathmate Black (Gold Edition)
Solar: Man of the Atom 1
Harbinger 4 (With Coupon)
The Rai 0 and X-O 4 are 9.8 contenders with a press. The others had just enough flaws to probably put them into the VF/NM to NM range.
The moral of this story? Keep looking, because there are still bargains to be found in old school Valiant!

Love to hear people still finding bargains.

Well done, man! I bought a short box worth of Valiant incentive variants at a con on Saturday. The price? $2 each.

Re: My Find of the Year!
Really nice finds
Every so often I find some stuff in the 25 cent box at a comic book store near me. They don't have a lot of Valiant customers, so most of the stuff from the 90s goes in that box. Over the last few months I've found
-Near complete run of Quantum & Woody (97 run) - was only missing issue 3
-Eternal Warrior 1 - 10
-Bloodshot 1-7
-Legend of the Geomancer 2 & 3 (couple copies of 2, all in 9.8 condition)
-Eternal Warrior 1 Gold (embossed)
-Archer & Armstrong 1-10
There were some other odds and ends throughout, but for only a quarter a piece, I couldn't pass most of these up, especially EW 4, EW 1 Gold, the Q&W stuff, or the Geomancer books

EW 1 embossed gold is a steal....

Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I mentioned it to the store owner who said it was probably put in there by error but since I am the only one who really buys his Valiant books he'd honor the placement and sell it to me for a quarter. The condition wasn't terrible, but probably only an 8.5, maybe a 9.2 with press.

Very cool of the store owner!markie7235 wrote:myron wrote:markie7235 wrote:Really nice finds
