Valiant vs Acclaim- Shadowman
Was kind of curious as to the opinions of these two respective titles as their both very different. I read the original Valiant Shadowman up to issue 9. I liked the idea of a "Voodoo Superhero in the Big Easy" (being raised in New Orleans myself) but the execution was a bit lacking, which isn't to say anything bad about Steve Englehart as a writer because I honestly loved what he did with Night Man (which is a similar character in some respects). Ennis' take on the book, in my opinion, however feels like what it should have been with from the start

I think Bob Hall's run on VH1 Shadowman is considered the defining run.
Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.

I've been curious about Garth Ennis's Shadowman run after I saw the announcement of the title being released in collected form.
How does it compare to Ennis's other work? I loved Ennis's work on Punisher Max and Preacher, while I thought Hitman was horrible.

My favorite run of Shadowman is neither of those and is Volume 2 #16-20 through the end of Volume 3 by Abnett & Lanning.
