My Valiant Story
Hi everyone.
I have been a Valiant fan for a few years now. But have been a comic fan/collector since the 90's. My Valiant adventure began a few years ago when I was feeling lost (in the comic book sense) because my favorite characters at other companies were no longer entertaining me and I began looking for something different.
I went to C2E2 in Chicago and met some guy named Dinesh, and another guy named Fred at the Valiant booth. These guys seemed really passionate about their comics, and one of their employees took the time to explain every character to me. I was skeptical at first. But they seemed to really want me as a reader and promised I'd become a fan if I only gave them a chance.
Why not? I've spent a lot of money on bad comics I ended up hating. I decided to give them a chance and bought the whole lineup of available trades.
That's when everything changed for me as a reader and collector. I have a budget, and found myself slowly dropping big 2 titles so I could add Valiant titles to my pull.
To make a long story short I'm on board. I've been pulling ALL Valiant titles for over a year now and buying back issues and trades of things I should have been reading before I became a fan.
I'm known as "the Valiant guy" at my LCS. And when anyone starts talking about comics I'm quick to recommend Valiant titles I know they'll enjoy because there really is something for everyone.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to talking about our favorite comics with you all.

Re: My Valiant Story
Welcome to the board! Lots of us are "the Valiant guy" at our local shops, which is sometimes a joke to the owner, but the joke's on him when he has no idea which books are worth something.

Yep. I'm the "Valiant guy" at my LCS too. I like being the outlier. Welcome to the boards!

Re: My Valiant Story
Being "The Valiant Guy" has its serious benifits. All advertisements come to me, the XO plastic rings, an entire jar ful, was given to me. Posters and the like, all comes to me. Funny, but I'm "the Valiant Guy" at a few LCS's, so it's been fun! I've amassed a decent collection of "stuff", and it's been great being "the Valiant Guy".

Welcome to the boards!
We should start having "Big 2" clean and sober key chains and/or coins.
