Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
As you can tell from my earlier posts I'm not the biggest fan of Leto being Bloodshot, but the more we talk about the movie the more anxious I get to see the movie on the big screen. To be honest, Leto probably won't be in the movie. Rarely does the first actor mentioned ever end up in the movie. This happens all the time due to "scheduling conflicts."

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
That's an interesting article. Dinesh is basically saying "the movies will NOT be the same as the comics, but we WILL keep the tone and the core."
So, the question is whether a 6'6 bulky body is the "tone and the core" of who Bloodshot is... or is it the programmed weapon who doesn't know who he really is?
If Bloodshot is the 6'6 bulky guy, then we need a big guy to be in the movie.
If Bloodshot is the programmed weapon who doesn't know who he really is... well, then we need an actor.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
Thanks for the link. I never thought for a minute that the story would be what we've seen in the books... the screen writers want the license to do something they think will work better as a movie. Like the Marvel films.

I'm honestly surprised at the popularity of this potential casting from everyone on the board here. I can barely think of anyone I'd like less in the role. Each to their own I suppose

Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
the question is would you want an action star who.can barely act and make this movie among 100s of other action movies,or would you prefer to have an honest to goodness amazing actor who can elevate the movie from just another summer action flick..No matter what his antics are,Jared Leto is an amazing actor..Plus people will take notice when he is in a movie..Shadowman99 wrote:I'm honestly surprised at the popularity of this potential casting from everyone on the board here. Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
Why is it assumed to be impossible to have both? I'm sure there are at least a few good/great actors that look the part of Bloodshot a little more than Leto does. At this point, all the speculation in the world really doesn't matter. From what Dinesh said in one interview I saw, they've GOT their Bloodshot actor. It's settled more than Climate Change. Either it is Leto, or it's somebody else.Manaf82 wrote:the question is would you want an action star who.can barely act and make this movie among 100s of other action movies,or would you prefer to have an honest to goodness amazing actor who can elevate the movie from just another summer action flick..No matter what his antics are,Jared Leto is an amazing actor..Plus people will take notice when he is in a movie..Shadowman99 wrote:I'm honestly surprised at the popularity of this potential casting from everyone on the board here. I agree. No need to compromise. Sometimes a scrawny guy can pull it off. Sometimes a big guy can't. It's OK to reinvent for the movie. More non-fans are going to watch the movie than fans.Phoenix8008 wrote:Why is it assumed to be impossible to have both? In my view Leto is hardly a big name actor. I had no idea who he was until Suicide Squad. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Still, he may do a fine job.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
I also find it hard to see why anyone considers him a "big name actor". He's been in some good films, but he's never been the name that's been the selling point for the film, possibly until the (obviously) recent Suicide Squad film. Plus, I've encountered the guy in person and he's conducted himself like a complete dick, so there's that too.nycjadie wrote:I agree. No need to compromise. Sometimes a scrawny guy can pull it off. I bet more people watch a WWE direct to video movie legally than read Valiant.nycjadie wrote:I agree. No need to compromise. Sometimes a scrawny guy can pull it off. Sometimes a big guy can't. I read recently that Suicide Squad 2 is being fast tracked and that there was a Harley/Joker movie in development...wonder if Leto will still stay attached (at least in internet-speak) to Bloodshot? I've no idea how long it takes actors to work on a film so he may be able to fit them all in

Who knows he had a bad breakup up with DC unrelated to him sending rats shoved into condoms to the cast.Bl00dsh0t wrote:I read recently that Suicide Squad 2 is being fast tracked and that there was a Harley/Joker movie in development...wonder if Leto will still stay attached (at least in internet-speak) to Bloodshot?
