Darth Vader #1
Anybody else pick this one up today? Damn it's good.
Pretty cool canon tidbit in this issue: Now we know why Sith light sabers are red.

Are they sticking with the synthethic Kyber crystals? I thought that was the reason, and have seen it across multiple media from the SWEU Legends stuff.Gafti wrote:Anybody else pick this one up today? Damn it's good.

Re: Darth Vader #1
There's *another* Darth Vader series starting up? *Ugh*
The first new Marvel Vader series was really quite good, I enjoyed the full run of it. I was buying it and the main SW comic for the first 2-ish years, but found the quality of the main SW comic was dipping & once the first DV comic ended I dropped that main SW comic too.
Good comic or not, the excessive heavy marketing of all the SW comic books is enough to keep me turned off of them for now.

I like to draw stuff... http://grendeljd.deviantart.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My wife likes to draw stuff too, and she is better than me! [I'm very proud of her]... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sara-Dec ... ref=stream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This one takes place in the time period beginning seconds after the Revenge of the Sith film ends.grendeljd wrote:There's *another* Darth Vader series starting up? *Ugh*

Issue 1 is essentially the start of Vader's quest to find a light saber after losing his in the fight with Obi Wan on Mustafar.
I agree that the marketing is excessive, but it is Star Wars. It's kind of the franchise that invented oversaturated marketing.
I actually didn't like the art in this one as much as I did in the previous series though.
