I am Selling Some VEI Variant Slabs on Ebay this Week
Hey folks,
I've put up a bunch of VEI Variant slabs for sale on eBay today that end next Monday 5/15 and a few others ending on Tuesday 5/16.
You can check out the books here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/hugomarink/m.html
There are a couple absolute gems, including a CGC 9.8 Shadowman #13 1:50 Davis variant and a CGC 9.8 Harbinger #25 1:50 Kitson variant. Both of these books are rarely seen, especially that Harbinger #25, which is extraordinarily tough to find. This is the only copy I've ever been able to find.
All of these are newly slabbed -- I got them all back from CGC in December 2016.
All books start with .99c opening bids with no reserve so market demand determines what these will sell for. Many of the others I'm selling that didn't get the 9.8 grade are nice copies I thought had a chance to get the 9.8 grade, but they came up a bit short for whatever reason. Some of these books will likely sell for very little, so if you're looking for some cheap VEI variants (in brand new CGC slabs) to fill holes in your collection, this is a great opportunity.
Here's a list of all the books.
Archer and Armstrong #10 1:50 Robinson CGC 9.4
Bloodshot Reborn #14 1:20 Robertson CGC 9.6
Bloodshot Reborn #15 1:50 Lemire CGC 9.8
Book of Death #4 1:60 Rivera CGC 9.6
Eternal Warrior #1 (2013) Gold CGC 9.6
Harbinger #25 1:50 Kitson CGC 9.8
Imperium #1 1:40(?) Braithwaite CGC 9.6
Ivar, Timewalker #1 Gold CGC 9.2
Shadowman #13 Davis CGC 9.8
The Valiant #2 1:50 Francavilla CGC 9.8
The Valiant #3 1:50 Francavilla CGC 9.6
The Valiant #4 1:50 Francavilla CGC 9.6
Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #2 1:50 B&W LaFuente CGC 9.6
Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #3 1:50 B&W LaFuente CGC 9.4
X-O Manowar (V1) #68 (Last Issue) CGC 9.4
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, all! Happy hunting!

Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate boxes cost $45.95 US to ship to Canada, which is $57.45 CAD. I'm sure it could be shipped cheaper if he wanted to deal with getting his own boxes and all of that, but I can't blame him for sticking to flat rate.nonplayer wrote:Should be no more than 20-25 Canadian. I can ship to Canada using First Class International service. The cost is $24.50 to Vancouver (I am in San Diego). I have my own boxes I can use for international shipping to save some money on shipping costs if the buyers are OK with the slower shipping time.

Re: I am Selling Some VEI Variant Slabs on Ebay this Week
Hey guys, just bumping my sale thread one last time. Most of these auctions end tonight (Monday 5/15) with a few more ending tomorrow night. Most of them are dirt cheap. No reserves on anything so these will all sell even if it's just for the 99 cents minimum bid. Good luck to all bidders!

Re: I am Selling Some VEI Variant Slabs on Ebay this Week
Some VERY nice slabs went tonight for (I'll say) bargain prices! The Harby #25 and Shadowman #13 1:50's could have easily gone for a bit more and TBH I'm sort of surprised they didn't.
Congrats to the winner(s) and to you as well.

I think I got a great deal on the Bloodshot Reborn #14! I tried to score some others, but was unsuccessful. At least I pushed the price up for you some.

I landed an Imperium #1 1:40, very happy about that. Disapointed on a few others, but that's ok

Thanks to all bidders! I was very pleased with the final results. Yeah, some of them sold for less than the slabbing costs but I kind of expected that. Fortunately, the big guns did quite well for me so the overall results were better than I was expecting. I wasn't sure how well the Harby #25 would do since I don't think it's as well known for being one of the absolute toughest VEI variants to find. I figured it'd go for $300-$350 so it did a bit better than I expected. But it probably should go for more given how tough that book is to find. I fully expect I'll never have another copy of that one. Thanks again to everybody for paying attention, bidding, and supporting my auctions. Much appreciated!

What do you think the only other Harby 25 1:50 9.8 is worth?

Re: I am Selling Some VEI Variant Slabs on Ebay this Week
Imagine a collector attempting to build a full VEI 9.8 run of Harby. To do this, he/she must first be willing to hunt down and pay for a DMG Promo ($1,100+).jasont215 wrote:What do you think the only other Harby 25 1:50 9.8 is worth?
Then, he/she will ALSO have to hunt a #1 Gold, QR, and Braithwaite. After that, #3 Zircher (good luck), #7 Flamingo, and #8 Lemire. We haven't even got to the Hughes variant or other HTF books. Then, once all that is done, you go for the Harbinger #25 1:50.
How much?
Well, at that point the collector is quite invested and options are limited...

Yeah, that A&A #10 is another really tough under appreciated variant. I was bummed that one didn't grade a bit higher but they're tough to find in any condition.corey wrote:ya i bid on A&A 10 the valiant 2 3 4 (i won the 2 and 4)
