I'm a biased fan of Rick Remender's work but his latest book - Seven to Eternity was an immediate sellout. My shop had one copy left by Saturday and everything on eBay is marked up. Odd considering his last few title launches (Low, Tokyo Ghost) haven't had this much demand. Don't know what's up with this one but I wanted to pick up a few extra copies but Midtown and TFAW are also sold out.

I just found out that Detective 880 is a 50+ USD book. Because of the cover alone. Wow.
I can see this book being very appreciated by fans due to its iconic look, but that price is a bit crazy given the printing numbers. And it's just that (yes, it is amazing) Jock cover.

About 40,000 copies is pretty low, given that it is the Detective Comics flagship title.

Batman #1 (the reboot) is also an expensive book and it is listed at 218,000 copies on that same webpage.

The other thing making Detective #880 a little tougher is that it wasn't an immediately hot book... at least not $50+, so most copies would have made their way into collections which are long-term and rarely get resold, unlike "professional flippers" who often have a stack of the same issue for sale (above cover price) for a few weeks/months right after the release. Now, 5 years later, it's a pretty tough book.

It is definitely one of those iconic modern covers. I'm hoping I find one in the collection I bought last month.

I'd put Catwoman #51 in the same category. Nothing special in that issue, but damn...what a cover!

Yeah, I see it. It is an awesome cover, but 90 bucks for it- nevah!!!!

Greg, thanks for those numbers- I had the idea that the printing was closer to the 100,000. At those numbers, I guess there are a LOT of Batman fans who will fight for it.
I grabbed my copy in a 50 cent smallbox. Along with basically the rest of Snyder's run on Tec (871-881). Really lucky- I only missed 881, which I then got for 20 €, a bit pricey, but it was the only Snyder Batman book that I missed. Worth it.

Another one that will only get higher, I think, it's New 52 Batman #2. First Court of Owls.
