I am excited. There's some footage of Bloodshot fighting some dudes that looks really good.

Re: Ninjak Trailer!
I've shared the trailer all over to get word out on Valiant because I'm tired of Iron Fist and Luke Cage getting all the spotlight lately. I am, however, a little nervous about the production quality of the web series. I know it isn't Hollywood budget, but this first impression has to win the general public over, in order for people to take Valiant seriously.

I wonder if Bat in the Sun came up with their name or their logo first.

Aaron is one of the biggest Batman fanatics I know. He's obsessed with "figuring out" the characters of Batman, Nightwing (his favorite character in comics) and all the other related characters. He's been my customer since he was a kid, and his one obsession was always Batman (and Arnold Schwarzenegger).chriskay99 wrote:I wonder if Bat in the Sun came up with their name or their logo first.

Re: Ninjak Trailer!
Finally got a chance to watch it. Some notes along the way:
The Valiant Digital logo sequence is really beautiful. Crisp, clean, and simple, perfectly contrasting to the nostalgia-laden logos Marvel and DC have gone for nowadays. I also liked the music. Very 90s arcadey, felt appropriate.
With Valiant's support this should be Bat in the Sun going as all-out as they can, and it really looks it. Everything looks pretty solid, even most of the CGI....save for a couple really glaring standouts (namely the X-O armor at the end and the shot of MI6 at the beginning). Those could be potentially ironed out before release, but will they is another question.
Back when it was first teased I referred to it as "Super Power Beat Down with a Valiant paint-job", and with a name like "Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe" that description is sounding more and more spot-on. And I said previously that that wasn't necessarily bad, since it can work as a good first impression of what Valiant has in store for the non-comics audience. I also found a reaction vid that made another excellent point: this could also be a very extensive proof-of-concept to Sony, showing both how to do their characters right and how much potential they have.
Speaking of reactions, I tried scoping around a bit to see how response has been, particularly with the non-comics crowd. It's looking like Bat in the Sun has their audience's interest, and I'm also seeing a lot of good vibes from fans of Jason David Frank and Arrow's Deadshot specifically. So yeah, Valiant's definitely pulling at all the right circles here.

This can be the superhero thing that neither Marvel or DC can do, right now: just showing off the properties, no need for a super thick plot, just blow everyone's mind away with Ninjak, Bloodshot, etc, doing their thing.
That shot with BS closing the head bullet wound, and the knife... that's adult level violence that only an indie publisher can use as a greeting card: Valiant superheroes SHOULD be more indie, non-conventional and all that. This series can give viewers a taste of what's happening here for the last 4 1/2 years.
I know this will be great for us, at least. Seeing Livewire made me lose all my cool moves.

Couldn't agree more.

From everything I've seen - they got the tone right.
It's a superhero universe ... But it's mature, hard boiled and provocative. I'm glad they didn't water down the violence especially when it comes to bloodshot.

God, the actress playing Roku is terrible. The other stuff looked neat, though, especially the split second of X-O in flight. The level of violence is something that I don;t really want to see, but I hoe the web series does what Valiant wants it to for them.

That guy that threatens Bloodshot with a grenade in the Bloodshot trailer is bloody awful too. It looks to me like there will be some parts of this that are amazing, and some that really, well, aren't.Tim wrote:God, the actress playing Roku is terrible. I'm going to patiently reserve my thoughts on this one until I see the final cut however

On another note, I did read today that apparently the first and final episodes will be double length at 15 mins apiece, which is cool

We're all just like "at home" or "at work". No-one yet like "I saw it on my phone whilst riding my unicycle through Times Square during an epic lightning storm" or "whilst free-climbing up a formation in Death Valley"
