X Factor 68 is a key book, but it has a large print run. It was a great run by a Whilce Portacio. And that being the issue where he sent into the future the kids everything off is huge. It's also incredibly hard to find in 9.8. That might actually help it.

There's an Amazing Spider-Man 688 1:50 variant on eBay right now, and the bidding is over $300. I'll post a link next time I'm on a desk top unless someone wants to search eBay and do it for me. The regular cover of that issue doesn't seem to have gone up in value. I may have to research 1:50 Amazing Spider-Mans from that time period and see if that's just how much those are going for.

A quick search of nearby Amazing Spider-Mans show no 1:50s available. Could that be how much Amazing Spider-Man 1:50s are going for from a couple years ago?

There is a spec site that is pumping that JSC variant.

I have all of these! Amazing, usually something doesn't get hot until after I sell it!

Amazing Spider-man 1:50 variants from around 2011-2013 are considered to be impossible to find. #667 and #678 have sold for thousands of dollars. Personally, I think they're the Kardashians of comics. Famous for being famous, nothing worthwhile inside.

I wish that JSC craze would translate over to Spider-Gwen. I still have Midtown's color & black-and-white variant covers that I can't get rid of.

This is the first I've seen of this book with this kind of pricing.... Is this variant commanding this kind of attention? Anyone know?

I just did a search on eBay for ''1:50 variant.'' Then I sorted by highest price. Then I clicked on completed items. Very interesting search! I'll probably post some findings from that search here this weekend. I noticed some VEI 1:50s in CGC 9.8 that went for around $500 for starters...

A few of the Venom Variants have taken off (obv. ASM in the past) but the Uncanny X Force with Psylocke on the cover has recently gone up, so the rest will soon follow. A lot of this is coming from Spec site heat. You can clearly connect the dots.

If you have ANY Venom variants, now is the time to flip them.

Yep agreed. Flip them quick before they fizzle out. Variant covers are not known for holding value over long term especially when the interior story holds no significance at all.

While I agree with most of what you guys are saying, I would strongly disagree with the variance from about 2009 through about 2013. This is the time. The most stores were keeping their orders pretty low and variants were not moving at all. Those factors put together it made those books now nearly impossible to find. It's knocking to be the same thing for variance now because everybody's ordering them again like it's the 90s. A lot of books are skyrocketing not just due to speculation but collectors trying to complete sets and collections. This is really just the tip of the iceberg if you try to find books from that time period. But you guys are all smart you've been in this market long enough to see these things just cycle. If you like to sell your books now is a really good time to do it.

Since November 30th there have been 18 Ultimate Fallout 4 first prints in CGC 9.8 that have sold on eBay. There are now only 5 left. I'm not going to be surprised if we see a price increase on it real soon.

There have been 13 slabbed Ultimate Fallout 4 1:25 variants sold on eBay in the last 90 days. Now only 2 remain. Again, it wouldn't be surprising if that book moves up from here.

Nothing really good to go on, but has anyone noticed Azrael books going up? :? I have been buying these for years on the cheap (Azrael 1 mini, and Batman 488) but now they are climbing. I didn't think the announcement of him being on Gotham was anything because it's a different character and costume. But now they're reissuing the trade paperback and putting toys out on him so I was just wondering if anybody has any info? With 488 going for $10-$50 I'm wondering if that's a good by or will he come back down to three or four dollars like they were six months ago?

I've sold a few CGC Azrael copies. I assumed there was something going on.

This one ended on Tuesday night. :o

It was listed as VF! I'm sending mine off to CGC in my next shipment. It is a strong candidate for 9.8. I'll then have to make a decision on what to do with it.

Sell, sell, sell unless you are personally invested in this. I see the attraction of these as being somewhat of a trend, and if we look at the history of comics, unless there is an important first appearance, trends always change with the winds.

I'm with you on the sell. I'd reccomend to sell NOW. Like tonight.
I'm not saying they will not stay hot or in demand.
But from my perspective some to a lot of the variant crazy is driven from the glut of spec sites right now. Again, just my perspective. Not saying it's bad or good. But the venom variants being uber hot (besides the ASM one) is newish.

Sell Mortimer sell.

I'd like to sell that Iron Man issue, but it's the only copy I've got, and it's... you know... my Iron Man collection. LOL!
