According to the email I received if you have gotten that email and you can start trying to get into the waiting room at 8 AM. And then it will actually open at 9 AM. So at 9:02 AM you'll hear the thousands of cries of people everywhere who get told its sold out! LOL

My wife is at her office still trying to score a pass for my son, although we are not even sure if he will be going.

Preview night sold out after 15 minutes, Saturday after 35.

I hope to make it some year, but I can't plan myself around these crazy pass requirements. I might have a better chance at a vendor pass. Anyone want free labor?

I feel the pain for anyone who missed getting tickets. This is the first time in six tries it actually went smoothly.

Now I just have to figure out the hotel BS.

Who can give some advice on hotels downtown? I want to stay Wednesday through Sunday ... figuring on $1000 to $1500 for four nights. Does that sound right or can I do better?

When the hotel list comes out for Hotel-magedon, you should be able to find a hotel in that price range, but you might be a little further away from the convention center. Also remember there is a city tax and most hotels charge $25+ a night to park in their facility. There are a lot of options in neighboring cities too, and most you can use the light rail to get down town. And if you do try for a hotel during Hotel-magedon bring your typing skills in the past hotel forms turned in past the two minute time stamp window of opening generally get nothing.

What are the best places to stay that are on the trolley line (or have other easy transport in and out of the con)?

I'm boning up on Hotelmageddon and will try that for sure but I want to have a good backup.
