Not on the list, but still somewhat limited, is the X-O #25 1:25, and Brent Peeples is selling some comp copies on Facebook:

Cool book, but is that a 1:25 or a Mile High Comics edition? I didn't know any of the shops did ratio incentives for their variant covers.

Also it looks like the VD has two different 1:50 covers for X-O 25 ... is that right?

Apparently the Peebles cover is a 750 print run for Mile High, not 1:25. And the Rafer Roberts variant (which looks awesome) is a 500 print run for Beyond Comics, not 1:50.

The retailer exclusives (specific covers for one shop) are not in Previews.

I doubt if any of them are under 500 copies. They might be sold as "limited to 250" or something, but that probably means the retailer is not releasing the rest (at this time), or that the artist got half.

Didn't look that closely at the cover, just the details in the Valiant Database. Looks like I bought myself a retailer exclusive, not an incentive.

I believe they have all been 500+. I've seen claims of 500, 750, 1000 and 2000. The retailer exclusive runs I think may be in the 2000 range.

The print run I'm very interested in is the Armor Hunters megacover, which was effectively a shared exclusive with just a few stores. I swore I saw a limit on these when they were first advertised, but later, nothing indicated a specific run. Given that I have the cover art, and all but 4 of the covers in 9.8, I'm heavily invested! I just can't get any 9.8 candidates for the last 4 issues. I would pay multiples if I could just get a decent copy.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I thought the Armor Hunters mega-cover variant books were 2,000 copies each.
It looks like there were 6 retailers involved, so 2,000 is a weird number. Maybe it was 1,800 with 300 per retailer (and 200 extra for damages) or something similar.

That's what I remember as well, Greg. However, when I've tried to find proof of that, I couldn't find it.i suspect that was changed at some point.

Midtown had plenty of these, so I doubt it was 300 per retailer.

My local retailer told me that he was told by various the reps from the publishers that VEI claims they destroy all extra copies of any variant/incentive editions after they have been distributed to those who qualified to receive them. They may keep a few extras on hand to send out as replacement copies if any orders are lost or damaged, but there are (apparently) no stacks of them sitting around in a storeroom or closet that will suddenly hit the market in a few years when an employee finds them and decides to make some cash. He said DC maintains they do the exact same thing with their incentive/variant editions. Marvel, on the other hand, apparently has said they do not destroy additional copies they have. So, if that is true, I'd certainly be hesitant of investing in any Marvel variants. Plus many of the Marvels still exist in pretty large numbers because the print runs and orders are so much higher than your standard VEI title.

As for retailer editions, I was told by a local retailer who ordered a retailer variant of Ninjak #1 for his shop that the minimum order is 2000 copies. And I can't imagine there are many retailers who can move that many copies so I expect there may be stacks of retailer variants of certain books sitting around somewhere. I don't pay much attention to the retailer variants, at least in terms of investment potential. Interest in them never seems that high and I expect there are plenty of copies available for those who want them.

The perfect example might be Invincible #1 (2003). There is only 1 retailer variant, Larry's Comics.
There are fewer Larry's Comics variants than the regular print run of Invincible #1.

The regular print run is worth about six times more than the Larry's Comics variant.

Larry's not losing out because Larry got a profit. But from an investment (or resale) perspective, the regular version was a better purchase in 2003.

According to Previews, the next 1:50 Valiant book will be A&A 1 ... I thought there might be one for Bloodshot Reborn 11 but I guess that is not the case.

Wrath of Eternal Warrior 4 was the most recent 1:50. It's not on this list yet but I bet when the numbers are on Comichron it will be 5th or 6th.

I'm curious if you guys have an idea of the print runs on comiccon previews. I've got a cool Dr. Mirage 1 from SDCC. There's next to no info I've come across on the thing. There's only one on the CGC census.

Generally, there are 2,000 (to 5,000) copies of the books that are non-gold which are convention giveaways. (1,000 copies for gold)

The convention books that get in the hands of the general convention attendees might not be well-protected (and many might be trashed), while the ones that are in the hands of retailers might be priced well above $20.

The SDCC edition of Dr. Mirage #1 generally sells for about $20.

So imperium #1 has only 256 copies
Of the 1:40 and Midtown still has 18 copies
I think the numbers on the Wrath of the
Eternal Warrior 1:60s are way higher than
They should be according to ratios.
I think the #s are only based on maximum
That retailers can qualify. I have no doubt
That a buttload are being printed regardless.
When it comes to $ and greed I dont believe
That any of the comic companies wouldnt
Just print a bunch more for themselves.
Sorry im skeptical

The February 2016 numbers are out... the same calculations that created the list on the first page would now include:

WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR #4 CVR F 50 COPY INCV BW LAFUENTE (137 copies calculated) <---- would be #6 in the Top 100
IMPERIUM #13 CVR E 20 COPY INCV RYP (229 copies calculated) <---- would be between #35 Imperium 12 and #36 Days of Steel 3
DR MIRAGE SECOND LIVES #3 (OF 4) CVR D 20 COPY INCV VEREGGE (261 copies calculated) <---- would be tied with #57 Divinity 2
X-O MANOWAR #44 CVR C 20 COPY INCV SEGOVIA (302 copies calculated) <---- would be before #99 Delinquents 2

Where would the 1:500 and 1:250 Metal covers rank on this list?

There were supposedly only 200 copies of the X-O #1 1:500 Brushed Metal. The ones that followed were 1:250, so I would assume there are at least 400 to 500 of those.

I won't argue that, but I will say that there seemed to be a TON less raws in the market for Ninjak, Bloodshot, etc than X-O. I think the X-O attracted a lot of non-valiant buyers (shops, etc), moreso than the others (just think of how many store variants there were, and each of those stores got at least 2). Plus, in the last year or so, I know a few Valiant retailers that have backed off of Valiant big time (at least till we see where this ship is headed).

CGC graded registry:
X-O Metal: 48
Ninjak- 34
Bloodshot: 29
HW1: 11
Shadowman: 23

You might be totally right, and my thoughts might be totally anecdotal, but there does seem to be less supply of the later ones, but maybe people are just holding on to them instead of the quick flip of X-O.
