Darren has a more rendered style for his work, lots of hatchwork. Not sure I recognize this artist.

I was thinking the hatchwork in the suit was in his style, plus, the two cards we've seen from him were also unsigned. But, like I said, just a guess.Justice41 wrote:Darren has a more rendered style for his work, lots of hatchwork. Not sure I recognize this artist.

Re: 2013 Valiant Preview Sketch card thread
Random thoughts as I've gone through this thread:
Justice41 - Are you Roy Cover, Aston Cover, both? The same Aston Cover that did some pin-up work for London Night and High Impact in the 90s?
Anyone know if the Glebes always work together or do separate artwork?
Hey doodlebird, none of your cards from the end of last year (pages 17-19) are showing up.
Butch Mapa wasn't listed on Rittenhouse's site. Anyone know if those are really legit?
I also stumbled over a Marcelo Ferreira card on eBay, but like Mapa, he wasn't listed by Rittenhouse.
Thanks in big part to this thread and eBay auctions, I've been cataloging this set here on ComicCollectorLive. The card "numbers" don't really mean anything, they are placeholders to allow for them to be grouped by the artists. Still haven't seen any Anthony Gay, Jader Correia or Rich Hennemann cards and find it amazing that out of 202 cards 21 are from Felix Morales.
Justice41 - Were the 10 cards you posted on the previous page ones that made it into packs? If so, I'll add them to the catalog at CCL.
Anyone have an extra base set they'd be willing to part with? PM me please!

The Marcelo Ferreira card.

And anyone have guesses as to the artists on these?

Yep those cards made it into the full release set but not sure which ones made it into the preview packs.SwiftMann wrote:Random thoughts as I've gone through this thread:

Yes the same Roy Cover who did the LKS pinups way back when. I try to forget the High Impact days but the work i did for them got me listed in a Dictionary or Index of comicbook artists due to their sales numbers at the time.
Butch and Marcelo are mainstays with Rittenhouse so yeah they would have been on the set.
The Glebe twins do work separately but mostly together. Actually like their individual stuff more.
I doubt there will be a wide release of the set. It's been over a year so it's kinda obvious it's not going anywhere. Too bad. I was hoping for a next set based on possibly single characters instead of the Universe.
I did manage one Promo piece way Back for Defiant comics before they crashed and burned.

I'm getting a Jason Sobol vibe from this but can only find a few of Jason's valiant cards to compare with.Magnus9178 wrote:

Re: 2013 Valiant Preview Sketch card thread
Thanks for all the info.
It'll be a shame if a good portion of those sketches don't make it into the wild because of the main set not getting produced.
Love the Jaunty/Shadowman/Darque one!

I'm wondering if our fearless leader Dino bought up that sketch lot?

Very cool buy. I don't chase the art cards, but I appreciate the collection.
Re: 2013 Valiant Preview Sketch card thread
It seems that these cards have only 'trickled' onto eBAY since release;
but this past 30days there has been a flood of auctions.
... BTW, i still have the promo card (from HeroesCon) around here somewhere if someone is still hunting one ...

I acquired a few of these cards. Here's the first:
