Many many thanks!.. I hope you get enough copies of the signed preview as I would love one of those. Either way thanks again for doing this for the community here.

Thank you very much for all your effort!kjjohanson wrote:Just wanted to give everyone an update on the NYCC orders. I popped into the Valiant office today and hauled all of the merch back to my office. Atom mentioned he would try to get a batch of the 2016 Preview signed by the office staff. If anyone is not interested in getting one of those, I can start shipping as soon as I get everything home (probably by early next week). He did give me a batch of unsigned Previews as well (in case he can't get the signed thing done; they're very busy making comics), so either way everyone who ordered will get one of those.

They're coming! I've been a bit busy and haven't had the chance to get everything shipped out yet, but I'm on it. Sorry for the delay!

No worries ... thanks again for rounding everything up. I think next year I will try to make it up there myself. It looks like it is turning into one hell of a convention.

I just hope it doesn't grow to the point where getting a ticket is like winning the lottery, like SDCC.kjjohanson wrote:It's insane.depluto wrote:No worries ... thanks again for rounding everything up. Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
Ken's not on the board as often as he would like, I'm sure he'll chime in here soon.
Lemme tell ya, having done this before it's a tremendous amount of effort to get all this stuff, box it up and ship it out. And with no reward other than the gratitude of his friends here on the board.
So please cut the guy some slack. I'm sure every day he looks at this pile of stuff and sees a 48-hour long chore in front of him. Complaining about it only makes it less likely that he, or anyone else on the board for that matter, will volunteer for this kind of thing in the future.
I did it once and that was enough for me. Ken does it like every year.

+1. Super appreciative. I've done this on a smaller scale, even picking up shipping costs. It is definitely time consuming.

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
I also can attest to the amount of time it takes to do these. From making the offer, to all the emails which need responses and tracking, to collecting the money, purchasing the items, obtaining shipping and packing materials, generating labels, going to the post office..... It is a HUGE investment of time which is done solely for benefit of the fans. Elery and I kept track and to do something as simple as a Scavenger Hunt promo then shipping out of the prizes, it took over 120 man hours in total
I know that I CERTAINLY appreciate it when a fan like Ken steps up and makes such a big offer to help all of us obtain items that we could not otherwise get
Do we all get the items as quickly as we would like? Of course we don't. We by nature are an impatient lot who ALL want instant gratification. But there is a lot of truth in the old adage, "Good things come to those who wait".
THANK YOU KEN for doing this for all of us!

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
I am VERY APPRECIATIVE of the efforts by Ken and the numerous other board members that have taken this task on. I am not complaining nor wanting instant gratification ( I would use eBay and next day delivery). Sorry if the "crickets!" comment fell flat, i laughed when I typed it.

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
The packing and shipping process has started. It took me a couple weeks to pick up the exclusives from the Valiant offices (I work around the corner form them, so they held them for me to pick up after the con.) Then work got busy for a bit, but I'm on it now.
I managed to find a batch of the 2013 Midtown Comics FCBD books in the cheap bin at Midtown last week, so I'm going to be including them at random in packages as they go out.
My goal is to have everything shipped out by next weekend.

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
Getting all the mugs out might be a little bit of a challenge. I tried to pack one of the orders of mugs, vinyl figure, and comics up and realized I need much bigger boxes in order to protect them adequately.
If anyone has a preference on how to have their stuff shipped, let me know. I think going with first class USPS shipping is going to be the best way, but for some of the comics-only orders a priority envelope protected with cardboard might be the way to go.

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
I'm one of the guys who ordered everything ... can't speak for everyone obviously but if it is easier (and safer for the books) to send two boxes I will cover that cost.
Thanks again, Ken!

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
I'd be up for paying for 2 boxes as well. I suppose you need to balance convenience and cost. Whatever makes sense for you is great with me, factoring in safety in those mugs.
Best,
Steve

Re: NYCC 2015 Exclusives - PRE-ORDER HERE
I don't think it's going to be a problem to ship everything together, just that the size of the box needed to ensure adequate protection might drive up the shipping cost a bit.
