Re: September 2015 Sales Discussion
That's another really solid number for Unit Market Share. Nice to see them fending off Titan and gaining ground on Dynamite.
Their dollar share is likely similar, or higher than some of those in the top 10, but it's not listed.

The numbers are looking up! The whole BoD / LotG / Fall of books are just killer, and worthy of the boost.

Great to see valiant climbing, hope the word spreads as people consistently see it in top ten numbers.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Really good to see a #3 VEI book land in the top 100.

I cant believe more people aren't reading Imperium...
I wonder if it's a marketing thing? Perhaps as news of the Harbinger movie gains momentum Valiant will push this title more (adds in mags/other non Valiant comics/LCS posters etc.)

I just can't fathom the low numbers on that book in general - but especially with a Divinity storyline in 7 & 8, as well.jmatt wrote:I gotta agree. I think it's my favorite title right now.Bl00dsh0t wrote:I cant believe more people aren't reading Imperium...

Thats crazy considering Dynamite and Boom publish 2-3 times the number of books as VEI! Their per book total must be extremely high compared to them.

The main difference is Dynamite and Boom publish a lot more books that don't make the top 300.BugsySig wrote:WowKeith wrote:Interesting...

Their books aren't selling enough copies to make the Top 300, or they'd have a higher dollar share. The same could be said for VEI 2nd printings, reorders, TPBs and HCs. The bottom line is VEI is outperforming companies, in terms of sales, who have a much higher total output.

Noted that people are not saying 'Doom' anymore ~ even for jest.
Their is no joke anymore ~ next step is to tackle Darkhorse ~ which will be hard with only 8 books.
Quality over quantity.

As an added note, September had 5 Wednesday's. Some companies will not ship any new books on that 5th Wednesday, which may account for some of the comparative increase for VEI. Still impressive though, no matter the factors involved.

I agree. I see the same on the CBR boards. But they're not picking up BoD. They're buying the Valiant and Divinity TPBs as their entry point.

Yes, I think that's exactly it. As much as I love Imperium, it is not a new reader friendly title. And it does take some effort to fully get everything that's going on that book. I usually read each new issue twice just to make sure I catch everything.Nameless7 wrote:Could it be a case where the book is simply too smart for the general masses?grendeljd wrote:I just can't fathom the low numbers on that book in general - but especially with a Divinity storyline in 7 & 8, as well.jmatt wrote:I gotta agree.
