But don't let Chiclo hear you call it a Star Trek movie.
It's official, I have hawked up for the weekend.
So, in regards to the OTV crew making an appearance to SDCC this year, the jokes can begin as follows:
"A punk, a teacher, and a metalhead walk into a bar..."
LOL
The "Unity Suite" ... in progress ...

As opposed to "a drunk, a hillbilly and a valley girl walk into a bar..."JonesyAZ wrote:AWESOME!Dr. Solar wrote:You mean the Star Trek fanfic (as Chiclo would put it)?Blood of Heroes wrote:depluto wrote:BoH there looks a little bit like Eric Bana in the last Star Trek movie.a little bit, don't I?

Re: SDCC POKER/TRIVIA NIGHT 2012
Guys it's looking less and less like I'm going to make this poker and trivia. I'm already exhausted after day one and then to put in another full day tomorrow and come play poker afterwards and then to drive my arse back to L.A. for 2 hours after poker is just going to be too much. Plus I have to pick up my 2 yr old at 10 am Saturday morning for the rest of the weekend. Sorry, but the day switch is just going to do me in!
I will definitely be at the Valiantfans panel though so keep any eye out for me. I'll be the skinny guy in a much too big for him XL Shadowman T-Shirt

Poker ran till 3am or so. Warren didn't surprise anyone when he kicked *SQUEE* again. He and Fred Pierce ended up splitting the pot. Too much fun was had. I (or someone) will post more details later. Gotta get back to the con....

Re: SDCC POKER/TRIVIA NIGHT 2012
Poker/Trivia night was attended by me, Elveen, Dr. Solar, BTE (and family), Wrunow, Rufusharley, Jonesy, Dino, Warren Simons, Fred Pierce, Atom! Freeman, and a late addition to the group was Todd from Collectors Corner in Baltimore.
We started with trivia. It came as no surprise that Dino took down trivia again. Dr. Solar gave him a run for his money. He was within one point of the lead until Dinesh went on a tear and pulled away from him. At the end of the game, Elveen surprised everyone with OTV t-shirts hot off the presses. Someone will be along to post a picture of the shirts. They are top notch.
Poker was great. As much talking comics as there was actual poker playing. Maybe even more so. Best part of the weekend hands down (beating out an INSANE zombie obstacle course AND attacking Levar Burton in an elevator. More on that later). The game didn't end till 3am when Warren and Fred chopped the pot. The pot included all the buy-ins, re-buys, AND a few board project books generously donated by Jonesy
. I can't remember which ones, hopefully he'll chime in and set me straight. I know Atom! threw a book in the pot too. I can't remember that one either.
Fred and Warren tied for first. Atom! was second, Wrunow third, Rufus and BTE were fourth and fifth (I can't remember which was which), me next, and from there it's a blur. But I do know that my man big bad Elveen got knocked out first.
Every year we have a VVPGSS book that everyone signs. Dr. Solar provided the Harby 1 1:20 for this years party. Hat's off to you, sir.
Dino also had a Bloodshot 1:20 for everybody. Too cool.
Almost forgot. The night was started off right by Atom! pouring everyone XO Manowar shots in Valiant shot glasses. Patron XO with a little Balieys floating on top. Delicious. He also thanked me for hosting the party with a Bloodshot 1:50. Best. Night. Ever.
If I'm forgetting anything, the other guys will chime in. I don't have any pictures from that night but I know some were taken. Post 'em if you got 'em.
Here's the book of the night. My copy came complete with a Spaceman Spiff remark from Warren. Warren, Bill Watterson's attorneys will be calling you shortly.

I can't figure out why it's sideways. I'll get a better scan if I can. Too f'n tired right now.
