I'd really have to go back and research that one ... I know I have some anti-favorites, but I'd have to go back and look. I do know that some of my favorite Master Darque splash pages and art were penciled by Joe St. Pierre!

always dug BWS solar...just re-read alpha-omega tpb and the art mixed with that story is just killer.

2. Joe St. Pierre

3. Yvel Guichet

4. Chang, Chen and Sears (no particular order)

My top five Valiant pencilers would be:

1. BWS
2. David Lapham (esp inked by Tom Ryder)
3. anyone inked by Bob Layton
4. Don Perlin
5. Rags Morales

Others of note would include Sean Chen, Bernard Chang,
Jim Calafiore, Dan Jurgens, Kevin Kobasic and Grey.

I remember at the time thinking Perlins work was average, but
have since relized what a talent he is. Talking to him via phone
and email along with owning some of his originals had a hand
in changing my perception.

Problem is I don't think he really wants to sell it. So his asking price is very high. I think it is one of the best covers Bart Sears ever did.

I sure do miss seeing his stuff when he was brilliant back then! The cover he did for Wizard (#8?)with Venom crouching down...I don't know if you know it,but it's got to be one of the best Venom images I've ever seen!

Number one's real easy: Jim Calafiore.
Then there's too many to try and order them. Some that stand out immediately are:
Paul Creddick, Grey, Lee Weeks, Sean Chen, Bernard Chang, BWS, David Lapham, Don Perlin, Rags Morales.

Give me a few moments and I could make the list longer.

Then we could list best inkers and colorists as well.

Bart Sears Deathmate cover on Wizard was excellent. Probably be the only reason i would buy it. for the xo/turok issues, i thought they were excellent as well. the issues 1 and 2 turok that he drew seemed meaner, and turok kind of tamed down in issue 4. i hated that.

What issues did Jose Quesada do ... besides a few early Ninjak's? Any? Talking the entire books pencils, not just cover work.

He did the amazing X-O #0 as well as #1 and #1/2 as well as Ninjak #1-3, Bloodshot #0, one of the Deathmate covers (Epilogue I think), Solar 15-23 and 29. Possibily more...
