These pieces just sold on Heritage at IMHO irritatingly high prices (listed without buyer's premium below, add 19.5% for the total):
X-O 1 Cover $7000
X-O 2 Cover $6000
Solar 18 Cover $1200
X-O 10 Cover $500
Magnus 2 Cover $3000
Solar 23 Cover $1300
Alpha & Omega Part 3 Page 4 $950

Got one of them

but not the one I really wanted

I really wanted that Magnus 2 on my wall. That is an awesome piece and a piece of Valiant history. The 2nd Valiant cover (not including the Nintendo stuff).

I'm surprised at the prices, but full disclosure, I bought the X-O.

Well, I know he used to work here, and yes you are right. Maybe next month. I'll be in LA for a speaking engagement, but I have a million errands to do down there, including visit our office and a consulate.

$8,365 and $7,170.

Makes the Magnus #2 $3,585 (with BP) seem small in comparison.

Does anyone remember what the Solar #2 cover sold for on eBay? I think it was $2K.

Long answer: As a joke I have been saying it's regularily once every ten years (lived there 1995 as you mentioned and visited 2005), but that would be this year and it seems we will not make it so that's the end of the joke. Will of course make the trip sometime and agree it would be great to meet. Have fond memories from meeting board members in 2005.

Which X-O did you get? I'm kicking myself for not going higher on #1 but it would be nice to know it ended up in the hands of a vfans member. In a few years we'll look back at that price as a bargin.

Magnus #2 went to a good home! I hope it makes it to your office, so many fans can see it.

I bought the X-O #10 cover. It must have been an amazing bargain. I've already received 2 offers on it. I love the iconic cover, with the X-O hand coming out of the ground.
