Unexpected X-O Piece from an old friend

As some of you may know, this month is my first store's 20th Anniversary:

Today was the opening day of events and sales at the store to celebrate the occasion. Our first signing was with an old friend of ours, the awesome artist and the tallest dude in comics, Marc Silvestri. Marc and I have had this ongoing thing for years where I ask him about my X-O commission and he starts wining about how much he dislikes Valiant. It's a put on, I don't think he really has any feelings one way or the other, but we enjoy it in front of people. I have never gotten my commission, he's always too busy and it never gets done. After the signing, we said our goodbyes, he left, went to the car. Then, about 10 min later, he comes back and goes, " I don't need to go yet, I guess we are doing the XO for you". This is the result, 15 min sketch, on a 11x17 board. Pretty cool, I think.

Very, very tall.

Great piece.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Great Commission. Marc is a very genuine guy, super nice and one of the hardest working guys in comics for sure. He goes above and beyond for his fans!

Ha, not going to happen. Remember, he was part of Deathmate. Lots of Ill feelings there. He cringed the whole time. Trust me, it took years of friendship to get this piece, he won't be doing another Valiant piece any time soon
