Thanks to sonicdan putting me in touch with Clayton Henry, I was able to buy a few Archer & Armstrong pages as an early Christmas gift to myself. While it was hard to narrow it down to what I could afford, I went with these three:

Archer & Armstrong #2, page 19
Image

Archer & Armstrong #3, page 13

Archer & Armstrong #4, page 4

Thanks again Dan! :thumb: Hopefully I'll be able to get pages from some of the other books, but sadly it seems like most artists are going digital these days...

The pages 19 and 4 are two of the most iconic in the line so far.

Excellent.

Good choices, all. That page 4 from #4 is great, and thats really cool you got the page where Armstrong gets his eyes shot out!

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited to have these. I'm going to have to resist getting more for awhile. All his pages are really amazing. I've definitely been bit by the art bug now. :)

I've realized that I forgot to post a pic of the Harbinger page I picked up a few months ago. Harbinger #0 page 15 by Mico Suayan:

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic, before too long I'll need to invest in a bigger scanner. :D

Me too, it's really amazing.

I also lucked into a David Lapham Harbinger page that I should hopefully have soon. I'll post a pic of people are interested. Collecting original art is really addictive! :)

Post away! I had a much better appreciation for comics after I saw original art for the first time.

Mico's work is stunning. His attention to detail is amazing. It seems like the artistry on current comics is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was 15 years ago.

I can't agree more! As requested, here is my newest acquisition. Harbinger #3 page 11, my first classic Valiant page, from one of my favorite books, and it's a pre-Unity one to boot. Needless to say I'm pretty excited. :D David Lapham pencils, and John Dixon inks.

The last panel is a stat taped over the original panel. Looks like there were some editorial comments about the art under it noting a change, but it's too faded to read the entire note unfortunately. I included a close-up pic of the stat too. Again, sorry for my crappy iPhone pictures!

Along with this page I also purchased a John Byrne Star Brand one as well. I'll post a pic of it over on the Dead Universes board.

:thumb: So you picked up that page!

I hesitated and then it was gone, lol! Nice to know where it sits. :)

I recently picked up the previous page to that issue, that I still need to post.

Oh man, I'd love to see that when you have the chance to post it. When I saw this page I just couldn't help myself. :) In my little time collecting art I haven't been able to find any affordable early Valiant pages like this one.
