I have had DIBS on this for a couple of months now. Philip is a good friend and a customer at our Pasadena store. We have had many conversation about our common obsession with Valiant and XO specifically. It was at his art dealers, so I met with both in SD and picked it up finally. Full color breathtaking piece, the photo can not do it justice, Philip's detail is ridiculous and can not be seen on a tiny JPG.

This piece is so very impressive in person I looked at it several times through out the show.

Great amazing pickup Ed. Again it seems you eluded me when I'm in town.

Very nice. You can see in this version, if you look closely, Ninjaks reflection in the blade.

Now this cover is excellent. Much better than the Phillip Tan variant we saw that originally was listed as an "unpublished version" but then was later solicited as the actual cover. But originally you said something like "wait until you see the cover they actually chose" .... soooooooo is THIS going to be the actual cover or is the "unpublished" version that seemed to be solicited the actual cover??? :?

THIS one is far superior imo. Congrats!!

I agree, I was tempted to get both, but went with the one I like the most. As far as which one is for what, wait and see..

You are correct. I mentioned this to the VEI crew at the poker game. I got to see both versions of this cover in person. It literally stopped me in my tracks.

This is just plain gorgeous art... :thumb:

I love this far more than the other one in use - are you saying they are using both? Perhaps anticipating a 2nd print of #5?
