This one surprised me how high it went - $690. Bob Layton art. Auction ended yesterday.

Re: Doctor Tomorrow #6 Cover - $690 at Heritage
its crazy...everything is unprecedented now...
man...my god...had I chose to collect original art instead of comics..i would be in a different place..
ever since I was a kid though, I knew this was going to happen..
The way I thought as a kid was like this... if all that 60s concert art and posters started to have major value, because they started to appreciate as 'Art', then someday people would finally realize that comics were humans creating art, and the value would skyrocket...but i thought it was the COMICS, not the actual art, it seems obvious now...
two things are also happening:
1) the value of money is crashing and people are looking to have assets like art, theyre not really comic people and they are buying things like this piece which seems low in comparison to pieces that sell for big bucks..
2)art collectors are finally waking the *SQUEE* up to the fact that these amazing artists have been churning out masterpieces, and starting to value them as such.. 50 - 200 years from now... whoa mama the prices will go into the hundreds of BTC..haha

Six words - Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen. Yikes. She’ll start printing printers to print all the money.valiantdude wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 12:07:40 pm1) the value of money is crashing and people are looking to have assets like art, theyre not really comic people and they are buying things like this piece which seems low in comparison to pieces that sell for big bucks..
